Street Carts is the southeast Asian version of Rasa. It's fast casual, but with more of a home grown feel to it. The assembly line keeps the food in clay pots like at Rasa. This location is near the P Street Whole Foods in Logan Circle and is spacious. You go down the line and make a rice bowl complete with a protein and a sauce of your choosing. I ordered the jasmine rice with steak and green curry sauce. It was good. They also have teas and lemonades on tap. The lemonade is really good and refreshing. There are plenty of tables to sit at with large windows to people watch.

My favorite build your own bowl place I’ve tried in the DC Metro area so far. The sauces are what make this place stand out though. And they have interesting drinks on tap. Convenient location too. Highly recommend!

I went to this place a few days after it opened, and boy was I surprised. I really enjoyed meeting the staff, who was busy but friendly throughout my visit. I've since been back twice to try new things on the menu and to see how this place is fitting into the neighborhood, and I'm still really happy with it. Hands down, the spicy coconut sauce on any protein/starch combo has been my favorite.

After living in Asia for many years, I was skeptical of the "authentic Asian fare" at street carts on P St. But I'm a believer - been here 3 times so far and has always been friendly, fast and fresh. The head chef is Thai and the manager is from Malaysia. Food is a bit spicy (just nice for me). they have more sauces if you want more heat (like my wife).
