Steak 'n Shake

About

Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for steakburger. The term "shake" stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak 'n Shake remains the "better burger" leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order. Other classics include the Frisco Melt, 7x7, Prime Steakburgers, and fan favorite M&M milkshakes.

Food - good. Service - fair. Normally a good experience, however restaurant was dirty. Floors sticky. Ladies room appalling. Sinks filthy. No tissue in stalls. Told four separate people at 6:30, still none at 7:30.

Questions & Answers

When you do go to S&S, please try the PRIME Frisco burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had that I haven't cooked myself.

Great question Larry. Maybe the health department should pay them a visit! They do need a sign on the bathroom door that reads, "Enter at your own risk".

Ever since this location became regular business hours and not 24/7, wait times in the drive thru have gotten excessive. My advice would be to call ahead to see if you can place an order and then pick it up in the drive thru. Yeah, you'd still have to wait in line, but it would cut out a little extra time waiting. Other than that, the Dennys a little down 28th street near where East Paris Ave intersects 28th street could be a better option for late night food. I've never had a problem with that Dennys location.

Not sure, if they are open on New Years Day ????

Good job Terri
