Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for steakburger. The term "shake" stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak 'n Shake remains the "better burger" leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order. Other classics include the Frisco Melt, 7x7, Prime Steakburgers, and fan favorite M&M milkshakes.

I don't know how hard it is to understand that free is free. The menu clearly says, Substitute coleslaw or applesauce at no charge. So the manager wanted to argue with me about having to pay .99 for a substitute. Otherwise the service was good.

This is by far the WORST Steak n Shake I have EVER been in. The manager Sean, would not allow for 'CHILI' to be put on my 'CHILI MAC SUPREME'! He said they only put the sauce, no beef. I was with my Son and Granddaughters. I told the waitress to take my plate away, that I would not be eating it. Asked to speak to this Sean and he was basically an unskilled, untrained low level person who was obviously mistakenly put into a management position . I wi never go back to THAT Steak n Shake and since this is where I grew up, I WILL be spreading this word. Along with all the other negative comments going around about this specific Steak n Shake, I wi be adding mine.
