I grew up eating at Staggering Ox, traveling thru Helena, wanted to share with my husband for his first time. Food hasn't changed, they still have my favorite crab trap. My husband thought a meatball and mashed potatoes would be flavorful in their bread.

Always a favorite and necessary stop in Helena. Love the large menu, employees are always great. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful

My sandwich was pretty bland, veggies didn't seem very fresh, and it took 30 minutes to get my 1 sandwich I ordered. But I enjoyed the jazz band that was playing in the restaurant and the girl at the checkout counter was super friendly 😊

Best cold sandwiches in town. Especially the Nuke. Four stars because of the price and the wait.

I love everything about this place but the food. The interior has a very creative decor which makes it an interesting place to spend time. But I've never eaten anything here that I'd want to eat again. If you like sandwiches, this is your place. If you think bread should accentuate a good meal, not be the main event, you're out of luck. Their soup selection is practically non-existent which makes no sense because this is Montana and soups are a natural accompaniment to sandwiches. And the potato options are just so-so. Go for the live music and the vibe and a beer. Eat before you go.

I really like the selection of different sandwiches here. It was a super busy place at lunch time, so plan accordingly! I definitely will be back in the future to try something different.

Had to wait 40 minutes for an order I placed on location. And the poor gal up front got no help at all and had to go get my food after I went up to find out what was taking so long. Food is good, but they need more workers and need to get the food out more quickly.

Sandwiches and atmosphere were awesome! Service was not. No one in line and it took almost 15 minutes to make our 3 sandwiches.

I will admit, slightly above normal sandwich prices, Until, I received my meal...Obviously freshly baked 🍞, fresh ingredients, unique ambience to boot Interesting yet pleasantly surprised...Then I wandered to the back area and discovered a comfortable music venue & coffee shop...But WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!Not originally from Montana, I found TREASURE, REAL FRENCH PASTRIES & Classic cinnamon rolls, so Cool!!!!I was told the variety of pastries vary and are all Great...Give it a try, unique employees and art

Super unique place with good food! The prices are fair as well. Cool selection of local art for sale on the walls and connected to Red Atlas which is convenient. If I had to nitpick, I would say they should serve coffee out of the restaurant instead of having to go to Red Atlas to get it.

Good food. Kids loved the peanut butter and jelly. Very large place. Lots of high chairs and tables. Very orginal sandwich in a roll.

I've always loved this place. I recently moved out of town and am here in Helena for a visit. This was one of the places I missed and wanted to eat since I hadn't been in more than a couple years, so I went with an old friend for lunch. As always, no disappointment here! Just the way I remember it, still just great food and service!

The sandwiches are amazing! A Nuke with camel spit on the side! Yummmmmm

Sandwiches that stand up, rice bowls, and many wonderful foods wait for your test buds! Best sandwich in town!
