Went here on a Friday night when staying in the local Premier Inn; the manager and girl behind the bar were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food (I had rare tuna steak served with gnocchi and peas) was absolutely incredible. The family also had the duck, Cajun burger, kids meals (soup, bread and a side of chips) and the pecan pie. Everything was superb. The ales were extremely delicious and the manager even helped us get some taxis organised home (recommending we use Uber instead of the local taxi firm which was 150% more expensive).

Good food, carefully looked after ales and a splendid selection of gins. A great pub for a stopover on the Chiltern Way or for an evening meal.

We had a lovely meal here after a walk through the countryside.Everything was cooked fresh and made beautifully.I had 2 starters and a dessert from the menu which were all wonderful. The food was well priced and the service was good too.The pub has an outdoor area and restaurant area (inside) to cater for different requirements.I will definitely be visiting again!

Friendly, cosy, excellent food, great beers... We come every year after a walk in the nearby bluebell woods and it's the highlight of the day.

Potentially a great pub with an interesting selection of beers but currently undergoing redecoration. Still serving sandwiches and bar snacks. Once complete I hope to go back and award the 5th star.

What a wonderful Country setting with various rooms in the restaurant part, as well as eating in the bar/dinning area too. You can also eat outside.Very attentive staff only beaten by the excellent quality food and unbelievable price, with options of one, two or three courses.I had today: Goats cheese with beetroot salad, Roast beef (superbly cooked and a really high quality piece of beef), with vegetables and the trimmings. Dessert was pecan pie with ice cream, pint of beer and large glass of Rioja and excellent coffee to finish. £60 for two - amazing!

Nice place, good service and good food, although you need to pay the price for it.

Rustic village pub serving a good selection of quality beers, ciders, wines, and spirits. Order ahead for food. Garden to rear is a sun trap on a summer afternoon.
