If you haven't already check out this place, please do. Spitiko is on it's way to ruining Greek food for me. and this coming from a Chicago guy (born and raised) who had SO many different quality levels of Greek cuisine at his fingertips. The place is delightfully unique with their own homemade preparations of everyone's everyday favorites.Everything there is homemade by a wonderful husband and wife team. You truly do feel like your in their home with the way you're treated. Spitiko's phyllo is unlike ANYTHING if ever had. It totally elevates their spinach pies and ham and cheese pies and the chicken kabob?? Just wow! Even their tzatziki spread blew me away. Two kinds of yogurt, lots of garlic... I could eat a bowl of that. There were so many other things there left to try, from pastitsio and moussaka to desserts and pastries that looked absolutely phenomenal. There are rumors of a dolmades day, so I need to pay attention! I can't wait to go back!

Another great, independent ethnic dining option on Schaumburg's (as I've started calling it) lnternational Dining Row (IDR). Amazing, homemade Greek food served in a beautiful taverna atmosphere.

Very good food, tasted like homemade.We got the chicken and the pork -very good. Salad was very crisp and seasoned just right, the fries were my favorite. We tried the bakalva, as well, very good. We will be back and hope everything will be as fresh and well prepared as our first visit.

wow, very fresh food and awesome fair prices. I had the grilled chicken with fries, salad and pita bread for only 9 dollars and it was filling and delicious. Nice place, we'll be back.

Great place, home made pastries and spreads are delicious, best Greek coffee ever, always fresh daily specials made from scratch, plus home atmosphere, can't ask for more.

Awesome food. The workers and owners were all awesome and the food was fantastic. Really fresh, high quality ingredients. Prices were really low....got 2 chicken skewers, salad, fries and pita for 9.00$ and it was delicious. The desserts were awesome as well. We got a piece of chocolate cake with caramel on it and it was super moist and perfectly rich and we got some Baklava which was THE BEST Baklava that I have ever eaten. Please go here and support this place so that it stays open so I can eat there again.
