Three of us attempted to bring our business to Spiaggia yesterday after kayaking the Chicago River. We observed an apparently empty restaurant, but were told we could not be accommodated as they were completely filled, and were steered to the café. Speaking for our little group, we are all very capable of understanding a dress code, and we can all respect it. Again, speaking for our small smattering of would-be patrons, we don't appreciate being lied to, and we can understand being told there is a dress code. However, we weren't treated with that modicum of respect. I can't speak for my companions, but I'll never again darken the doors of this eatery.

I did not wear a coat as I was taken unexpectedly on a business trip. However, if you are spening the $$$ to dine here, I would suggest dressing for the occasion.
