First time customer: awesome food! Clean facility, adequate seating inside, as well as a couple of tables outside. The portions are plentiful, unless you're trying to win a contest! Food is seasoned well. Staff is helpful, courteous, and prompt. All in all, great experience, we'll be back.

My husband and I had been looking for a local place that would make good brisket and we came to the right place. My neighbor told us about Southern Coals and we hurried over there Monday, only to find out they were closed on Mondays, so we had a chance to go today. The food was amazing, the brisket was tender and delicious, the sauces were great, the cornbread was excellent. We have absolutely no complaints. You need to get there early however, it gets crowded around noon. Highly recommended.

Great tasting BBQ and sides. I got the sampler to try a little of everything. Nicely smoked and tender. I'm a sauce guy, so having a couple bottles on the table was good for me. Mac was great and so were the beans. Nice place to enjoy my lunch.

So happy to have this style BBQ close by. I love all of the sauces. The only thing I would change is the cornbread. Not a fan of sweet cornbread

Good meat, great sides. I recommend fried okra, Mac n cheese, and collards.

I had pulled pork, cole-slaw and fried okra. All were very good! Establishment's clean and employees are friendly. This small joint is now on my state-wide list of good BBQ. Can't wait to come back with company!

The best ribs I've had yet in NC. I would have been happy with just the sides, collards and green beans! Next time I am visiting, a stop there will be on my to do list! The staff was friendly and helpful.

BBQ at this spot - very good. I will be back with my coworkers. The bill was good for what you get.

Always amazing from one end of the menu to the other

"Good on yah!!!" Showing heart. They donated free meals to the community. Took their food truck out and feed over 200 school children and adults. Thanks for standing in the gap. Just one more reason to support Southern Coals and the bakery Burney's. Side by side on Raeford Rd. Look them up and treat yourself!!

This is barbecue that you cannot miss out on. Perfectly smoked meats leaving them juicy and delicious. Fresh collards, green beans and other sides that make your mouth water. Our waiter was extremely attentive and seemed to be genuinely happy we were loving every bite. I’d eat lunch there everyday if I could.

This was first visit for me. My wife had eaten here for lunch with her ladies group. Excellent brisket and pulled chicken. Fried okra and onion rings were spot on. Look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu. Fast, friendly service and staff.

Best BBQ is had since I’ve lived in the Fayetteville Area

Food was good and came out quick. Always happy when we go. Tried something different this time and wasnt disappointed.
