South Lyon Hotel

About

Delicious food for friends, family, and banquets. The South Lyon Hotel, as it has been known for decades, was built in the Village in 1867. For nearly 150 years it served the community first as a hotel, then more recently as dining & entertainment establishment. In the summer of 2016, the building was destroyed by fire. Through the dedication of the owners alongside the overwhelming support of the community, our new "Hotel" opened in the fall of 2017. Ready for the next 150 years... please join us !

Service is sometimes great, sometime inexcusably bad. My wife and I go here about once a month. The last time we went here was on a Sunday shortly after they opened. They were not busy. We were seated promptly and given menus, and then ignored for over 10 minutes. We even checked with the hostess on who our server was, but she didn't tell us or talk to anyone about it. We ended up just walking out and going to Leo's without a server visiting our table. When we do get served here, the food is pretty good. The main thing this place really has going for it is that it is one of the few restaurants in town. They have a decent selection of beers as well.

The staff really took care of our large group. Super attentive and polite, friendly service and the drinks were strong and the food was delicious.

Always a pleasure. Good old South Lyon royalty. Maybe you haven't seen it on 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' (yet) but it's an absolute staple in this small town. People come from miles around just to say they've even been here. My boss proposed to his wife on the balcony 30 years ago. It just feels like home! Menu advice: the bisque is not all it's advertised to be 😒 but definitely try the Green Tomato BLT, it's unique and delish 😉

Questions & Answers

It's the first Thursday of the month. That is when they have the Polish dinners.

I believe you can.

I have no idea, maybe you should call them and ask.

No rooms, pretty good food. Only one "hotel" in town, and it's a motel at best.
