The Food is EXCELLENT. I grew up in the south and I know southern cooking. The owner makes his food fresh every morning and their menu is extensive. Their serving sizes are plentiful too. They even serve brezkfast.! So far, in Milwaukee if I can not make my favorite southern dishes myself, Soul Good Kitchen would be the only place I'd go for good southern cuisine.

The minute I walked in the door I was welcomed very warmly. Customer Service is really a priority here and it shows. I felt like I was at a family members house for dinner. It tastes just as good too! I would recommend this for anyone who wants a home cooked meal without turning the stove on! You won’t be disappointed. They also offer catering services as well.

My only issue is that they do not know what "smothered " means. I get the smothered wings and keep hoping that they get it right. They simply fry the chicken and pour gravy on it. Chicken is still basically fried. If that's the way they do it, they should call it "fried chicken with gravy"

Just in case your wondering or assuming like I did, this is not a black owned and operated establishment. Not that that makes the food any less but I wouldn’t know because the order taker was the cook and I waited more than 20 minutes before I just decided to leave

Great food! Nice portions on fried pork chops, rice with gravy, black eyed peas. And the kool aid lemonade mix is perfect! Good service on dine in.

😢 I really wanted to enjoy my food, I loveeee breakfast ... The flimsy piece of sandwich steak I received was EXTREMELY tough! I didn't/couldnt finish it... my hotcakes rubbery and Ieft in the box with one triangle cut of the 2 cakes(they were gross) ... my scrambled eggs were nothing to write home about & lastly my hashbrowns were overcooked and mushy . I love pancakes, so disappointed! Our waitress was nice enough

I pray no ones grandmother EVER cooked like this!! I ordered the pork chop meal (1) Fried (1)smothered,with collard greens and dressing. Nothing but the gravy has any seasoning, the greens have too much vinegar it’s all you taste, the dressing is so dry it’s literally all crumbles it does not have any veggies not a hint of sage or poultry seasoning let alone anything else in it. Now the pork chops.... the fried one was cooked so soft and chewy it was impossible to cut with that plastic knife!! It had absolutely NO SEASONING not even salt or pepper!! The smothered one was actually ok and so was the gravy. This is NOT worth $15 this is honestly the worst attempt at soul food I’ve ever eaten!!!! If you want good Soul food try Q-Master & Martha’s on 3rd & Burleigh or Stella J’s on 76th & Capital.

Questions & Answers

No, it is not black owned but the Asian owner has the soul food element down pat. I really enjoy the food there. I am from the south so I know what soul food should taste like. And sonce moving to Milwaukee that is the best I have tasted.

Yes

They have a drive thru Not sure about delivery

Aww c'mon now! I was going to support if it was black owned. Now the Asians want to take our food too?! Can't nobody do soul food like us. That is something unique and particular to Black culture. Can't y'all see what's happening here?!!! Blacks are the easiest ppl to make money off of and we'd support another race in a heartbeat rather than our own. They've had our hair and hair care products since the beginning of time and now they're trying to copy our food bc they know it's another easy dollar. Wake up Black people!!! Ugh!

No we dont... Neckbone and ham hocks
