Sonny's BBQ

The Sonny's on San Jose here in Jacksonville is a spot well worth the travel to get to it. Food is well prepared and delivered to your table without an excessive wait. In fact your server will tell you the wait time for serving the meal when you order. We went right after the noon rush. There was still a large crowd but the dining area was spotless. You would think they had just opened. Over all a very pleasant dining experience.

Lights over tables are way too bright. This location is updated and very nice inside. There's a small bar area with TVs. Food is delicious and exactly what you expect from Sonny's.

The place was clean the service was fast the food was good and hot. The server check on us kept our drinks filled and asked if there was anything else she could do for us. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. And the portions are large enough that you can take home some leftovers.😁

They have the best bbq all you can eat

Always the BEST smoked BBQ...sliced pork, chicken, ribs...(secret tip - try the amazing chicken salad on the salad bar)...staff is super attentive, friendly and personable. This location has the shiny new remodeled decor...looks good!

I have eaten at this location approximately a dozen times and never been disappointed. It's modern, clean, good food and a great staff.

The prices were fair, and the food are to die for. If you want to get some BBQ I recommend this restaurant! As well the family platter is super affordable and you get a lot of food for that one price.

We ordered the family feast. Beef brisket was dry and hard. Couldn't eat.

Great bbq. Even better staff. There is a waiter here who is just so nice to look at. And he is friendly. Awesome sweet tea.

This is THE BEST Bar-B-Que joint in Jacksonville!! You may have had Sonny’s before, but you’ve never had THIS Sonny’s before! Me.Tracey is AMAZING-truly the best! She has the biggest smile and do whatever she can to make your experience the best not only at their restaurant but at any event that is catered!! Don't remember location in Jax Fl but we were a large crowd celebrating my grandsons 1st birthday, granddaughter 13th, sons 20th wedding anniversary, my husband proposed 20 years ago too. And my 65th. SERVICE WAS THE BEST. TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF US. Thank you to all.

I love Sonny's! Every time I come to Jacksonville to visit family, we always go here to chow down. The pulled pork is so tender and juicy. I love to smother it in their sweet BBQ sauce. Give them a try if you want some delicious BBQ!

Longtime Sonny customer but this location is excellent...ribes were amazing and that's rare for a commercial chain...friendly staff a new building equate to a Greta BBQ experience

I got the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. The food was very good. The only issue with the food was there were a couple of green beans in the mac (green veggies make me ill). The service was incredibly slow. It took over an hour for a simple sandwich. I rate it 3.5 (rounded up to 4).
