Best bagels in NJ! Super friendly owner as well. This will definitely be our new bagel stop.

This was my go to for breakfast on my way into work. The bagels are always fresh and always warm in the morning. Jason Miller (owner) is very hands on, very attentive not like other places that the owner is never there or the managers are hiding in the back. Every morning I received VIP treatment. Can't wait to have another Cinnamon Raisin Bagel toasted with cream cheese. ☆☆☆☆☆

As a native New Yorker, my standards for a bagel with lox and cream cheese are high. Sonny’s exceeded my standards... by a lot. Their bagel with lox and cream cheese was absolutely delicious, fresh and perfectly made. Highly recommend - will not disappoint. I look forward to coming back again.

My first visit to Sonny's did not disappoint, to say the least. When I asked Jason about the difference between Nova and Lox, I expected a quick response but instead he proceeded to let us try both, explaining the difference and assuring we'd enjoy our bagel sandwiches. As he learned that we were fish lovers, we got to taste other samples so even know what we'd like to get next time. The Nova on an everything bagel was delicious. Great food and service! I'll definitely go back any time that I'm in town.

There's no grill, so you can forget about getting a bacon egg and cheese if you come here. Other than that, bagels are pretty good and very reasonably priced

I grew up on these Bagels. Every Sunday morning in the 70s an 80s the head home and watch Sunday Morning on CBS. To this day in my own opinion no place has ever come close

Went there in the morning before touring Seton Hall with my daughter. Fresh warm bagel with melted butter than tasted like freshly baked bread, solid cup of coffee and cream, and the nicest service. The gentleman there was so friendly, seemed to know all the regular customers by their first name, and asked my daughter for her name and what was bringing her there. He just seemed to be so happy to be there, it actually started a good day for us despite a long drive the day before.

I worked at Sonny Bagels 40 + years ago. It was my very first part-time job in H.S. While in N.J. I popped in to show my daughter where I worked in the 70's and get a familiar taste of home! I was pleased to discover that so much about South Orange Village had changed but the one thing that remained consistent was the delicious Sonny's bagel!! It was just as I had remembered. It had a great crust and a perfectly fluffy texture inside ( not doughy.) I had the pleasure of meeting, Jason Miller, the new owner who was extremely congenial to my daughter and I! I will definitely return to take that familar taste of home back to the South with us! Wishing you lots of success Jason. It was a pleasure meeting and reminising with you! Thank you!

Excellent bagels. A nice density when you bite through the crusty exterior. Open early (6a). Quick and friendly service.

I've been going to this place since I've been in middle school...I'm currently 25. Jason has done a great job in improving what needs to be improved while keeping all of the things that makes this place special. Highly recommend it!

I have been going to Sonny’s since i was a child I am now 32 I honestly think they’re the reason I fell in love with bagels. It’s been awhile so I went to visit yesterday only 1 of the 3 of the bagels I ordered was edible. Both the plain bagel and cinnamon bagel were hard as a rock. I literally tapped them on the counter and they chipped off. Also the lady who I ordered the bagels with was not very welcoming. The young lady who was the cashier on the other hand was very nice. Maybe it was a rough day. But They seem to be falling off in quality and customer service.
