Solly's U St Tavern

Perhaps one of the best bars in DC. The bartenders are exceptionally charismatic, and the patrons seem to match the energy you'd expect on a given day. It draws a mixed crowd--from blue collar to white collar, yuppie transient to local, young to old--and it somehow strikes the right balance through such. The outdoor patio is pleasant and the interior has a quality, cosy, classic layout. The upstairs is nice, and the karaoke and live music events that it hosts are a lot of fun, though the downstairs will typically draw the most energy on a given night.

Great Dolphin's bar (first floor) and football bar for sunday afternoons. The BBQ they serve is some of the best in the city!

I came for the karaoke. I stayed for the atmosphere. I left because they were closed. It was a good time.

Honestly not sure how to rate this. If you want cheap-ish drinks, to accept you're gonna get a little sloppy, and a night where you feel 22 again then sure, 5 stars. If you want a good selection of alcohol and to not be concerned of simple things like if there are holes in the bathroom walls, then 1 star (there are literal holes in the upstairs bathroom walls). So I'm just gonna go with 3 stars here as a compromise.

Good sports bar

Casual and relaxed bar on U street with decent space inside and a nice patio. They don't have any beers on tap, but they have a decent selection of cans and do beer + shot specials. Bartenders are always quick and the food here is amazing. Really great smoked meat sandwiches, fries, and a variety of BBQ sauces.

the food is amazing to be honest. Beer selection is sub-par and so is the service. As an out-of state visitor I was really confused as to what the process was, but the food made up some ground :-)

A great dive bar! Friendly bartender, good prices and most importantly ice cold beer! Stayed in the neighbourhood during a recent trip to DC and come to Solly’s twice. Would recommend!
