Great soba you can find in NYC. Do try their lunch combination soba+rice.

Azuma was a very surprising and good experience, as we’ve just walked in without knowing what it is and how much and why.Two small draft beer (Kirin) to start with, then two very-very good started - octopus balls and grilled squid - were just the beginning of the experience.I ordered the hot kakiage bowl, which is a huge bowl with soba noodles and very tasty soup, along with a rice ball with fries shrimp and vegetables; my partner ordered a mini-size beef bowl which wasn’t mini at all, but very good. All in all, Azuma has officially became one of my personal favorite Japanese restaurants in The Big Apple.

I had yellowtail sashimi as appetizer with hot soba noodles with sauteed duck as main course. Very good. Nice service. Not the best I've had in NYC so I gave only 4 stars, but still very good and I would go again.

Good portion of food for the price. The various portions of soba noodles all cost the same (100g, 200g, and 300g). The tempura was a bit bland but otherwise pretty good.

Good soba but what I love are the tapas-sized appetizer/bar food from the dinner menu! Restaurant also offers a nice sake menu.

This restaurant has an extensive menu made up by combining all the traditional in an unlimited combination of ways centered around the noodle bowl. Perfect broth, perfect noodles. Of course the soba is right there. Curry broth with chicken was a pleasant change. Roast duck breast sliced over soba is still my favorite there, but the vegetable tempura is excellent too. A good place to meet, relax, talk, and share a meal with friends.

Small but authentic and inexpensive place for Japanese dipping soba. Portion is relatively large.

Don't like soba there. However the sesame ice cream is great.

Ordered Ten Sashi Gozen. Decent soba and tempura. Ordered large soba portion. Sashimi is all right.

OMG sooooooo good! I can't believe I didn't come here before (always went upstairs to Yakitori Totto). The curry soba here is perfect! Excellent flavor and not too overpowering. They also have many small dishes commonly found at izakayas, such as grilled mackerel, kara age, gyoza, tako wasabi, etc. The octopus with pickled plum sauce is fantastic! If you end up at Yakitori Totto and there's a long wait, which is usually the case, do yourself a favor and go to Azuma. The food there is obviously different from Totto, but the quality is on par. Prices are very fair, actually pretty good for Midtown!

Fast, friendly, and informed service. Really enjoyed the food and menu options. Place filled up really quickly upon opening on a chilly Saturday.

This is one of the best Soba noodle restaurant in NY. The food is very delicious and filling. For lunch I recommend getting the Azuma Gozen set. It comes with sides dishes and a big bowl of Soba Noodles and ice cream for dessert just under $20. The staff is very accommodating and polite.
