This place is good if you don't mind going deep into the basement but if you want something fancy, check out the other Ruben's further down (or up) St. Catherine near Peel.

Great sandwiches and service. Dinning room is downstairs. Great selection of desserts.

One of my favorite places for comfort food. The food quality is consistent and I've never been disappointed so far. Many choices for smoke meat however this is ine of the better ones right downtown.

Ok food and service is just ok ...nothing special

We were in a rush and let our waitress know. We were seated quickly despite the restaurant being busy and our food came out in less than ten minutes after we ordered, which was great. I ordered a pulled beef poutine and it was incredible! There's a reason this place is famous

It's alright, the meat/deli section that seems to be the main draw is not that phenominal, I feel like there are better local options.

Disappointing. Asked for my smoked meat to be lean. It came medium to fat. Ward told that it happens. They can't predict how the meat will turn or when slicing. We got a fatty sandwich with his and pieces of meat instead of the standard slices. Table next to us had two nice sandwiches with nice slices of LEAN meat. If you didn't get what you ordered, return it

Full of atmosphere this restaurant sits a level below the street - and the former Ben's restaurant that was on the site for many years. Both restaurants had a great reputation for serving top quality smoked beef (among other things!). The present Ruben's restaurant is lively, with a distinctive vintage character. The smoked beef sandwich followed by their cheesecake is to be recommended.

Was introduced to this restaurant to try their signature meat sandwich.The atmosphere was good with a busy vibe and staff were very friendly and attentive.The food was good and the portion very big, having trouble to finish everything on the plate. The meat was well cooked and had lots of flavour. The slaw was nice and fresh with a good tang. The fries were crisp and tasty.Was expected a meat sandwich to be something more special but overall enjoyed the traditional Montreal meal.

When in Montreal I always have a smoked meat sandwich. Reuben’s is one of my favorite places that serve this Montreal staple. Good prices, quick friendly service. The place is one floor below street level, which gives it a feeling of dirty basement, but the place is not dirty, and the delicious smoked meat will make you forget any problem.

Almost walked by it. The service was on point, fast, friendly, and our meals arrived swiftly. The portion were great, with my girlfriend taking half of hers home with us. There licensed but ove a very inviting family vibe. Defintaly worth the decent to check out this place

A classic. Reuben's is a warm and cozy place with comfort food and delightful service.

This is my favorite smoke-meat sandwich restaurant, their Reuben melt is awesome. Furthermore, their cheesecake is unparalleled. I've tried cheesecake at all the restaurants that have them, but none of them beat it. Only one or two other restaurants come close... and there's a gap in that "close" .
