Smitty's Pancake House

Very family friendly, great kids menu, best yam fries I have ever had. Decent sized outside patio. Decent cost, a bit steep but you're downtown so it makes sense.

It's an ok diner, but the prices are a little high for what you get in my opinion.

For breakfast had the Eggs Benny with 2 eggs, salmon, 2 prawns & hashbrowns. Also English Breakfast with 2 eggs/bacon strips, ham, onions, tomato, baked beans & 2 pancakes. Yum! With thermos of coffèe, only $39

We had a very good dinner. The highlight of the meal was our server. He was very good at his job. It was his sense of humor that entertained us!

Well, i walked there at 7 PM, and noticed the doors were locked. Smittys closes at 8 PM. I look inside and see cooks walking around, so I knock on the door. They probably didn’t hear me, so I go back to my car and figure I’ll go to another restaurant. On the way in, I noticed two people sitting at a booth. Now these two people were crouched down in the booth. At this point I’m very confused, and they keep looking up at me, while their hiding. Then, I put two and two together and realize these two people were employees. They didn’t want to work, so they locked the doors so they didn’t have to serve anybody. Worst service ever.

Excellent food and courteous service.

Very polite staff and accomadating to requests. Service was quick. Delicious breakfast menu and not to bad for the wallet. Restaurant is kept clean. Decor has a bit of a nostalgic old time tacky feel. Favourite spot to many locals.

Food quality vs. Cost needs to be upgraded a bit I have never had a problem with service quite the opposite. Thank you for awesome service and fantastic coffee

Great service and food

I was visiting friends in Comox and went to Smittys for a meal. At the time of arrival the restaurant was 60 percent full, we got a table right away. From first greeting to the service at the table, staff was super friendly, polite, and respectful. The food came out to be very good. Dessert was very good too. I do have to admit it took little long to get food but the waitress came by and gave us updates which was real nice. I come from a busy city in Vancouver and everything is fast and go go go. It was nice to have things come out nice, relaxed, and it was nice not to feel rushed out the door. Thank you guys!

Service is great.. for the prices it would be nice to have a tad of quality upgrade on the food.. serious use real potatoes offer yam fries etc ...
