As I felt sick of greasy foods, I really enjoyed every dish with wasabi & soy sauce. It was very difficult to choose but a roll named "Big boss" was yummy. We added Uni for the last and it's good too.

The sushi was delectable and very good, but the wait was so long and service was a little bit absent minded. Was giving sushi without wasabi and ginger had to ask for it. Not sure if I will go there again because of the long wait and parking ( I parked illegally).

Amazing food and Bruce does a great job. But let me just say it is beyond frustrating when the staff takes the phone off of the hook or hangs up so you can’t place an order. I understand if you’re busy and I’m willing to wait but if you’re just going to ignore orders please advise a time to order by to not get hung up on.

Definitely the best sushi in Baltimore! After I moved from LA I thought I was just not going to get to have decent sushi anymore... was over joyed to find this place! Big beautiful rolls 😋

I'm sad I can only give this place 5 stars! They hands DOWN have the best sushi in the Baltimore area. Everything they have tastes extraordinary. I am obsessed with their Garlic Edamame, and I like to dip my sushi in the leftover sauce from that. Their ultimate sushi rolls are the biggest sushi rolls I've ever seen! I usually get the Playboy Roll, but I've also been wanting to try their Shoyou Style Baked Lobster Roll. Aside from their great food, I really like how they allow BYOB. I'd recommend going there during off hours if you can, or plan ahead of time to wait for a table because the place is very small. (I usually put my name in and walk across the street to the bar "Don't Know" to kill time.) Another reason to go during off-hours is because parking in this area can be a pain, especially on a weekend after 6:30pm. The best places to park are off Fort Av. or Light Street.

I want to give this place 5 stars because the food is out of this world. Best sushi I've ever had. Portions are huge and presentation is gorgeous. But..... The service......not so much. Food is worth it if you don't mind waiting for it and hearing bogus excuses for why it's taking so long, when in actuality, your waitress never rang in your order at all 🙄.

The food is fresh and all the flavors tasted great. There is a wide selection of custom rolls and sushi. The place is rather small with a limited number of servers, so if you have a large party or are in a rush, it might not be ideal.

I was shocked when I called in takeout for a salmon and avocado roll, plus a tuna and cucumber roll and was told the bill was $20.12 (9.99+8.99+tax). The prices aren’t listed on their website, and These types of rolls are usually around $6. As you can see from the pictures, the rolls are bigger than usual with more fish, which kinda makes up for the price increase. Not bad rolls. I don’t think I’ll be ordering classic maki rolls from here again because of the price. I think the special rolls are definitely a better deal though! 20-25 minute wait On a Sunday night at 7:30, all aspects of ordering and pick up went well.

Went to Shoyou Sushi for lunch after hearing about it from some co-workers and definitely some of the best sushi I've ever had. The Hawaiian Ahi roll was my absolute favorite - Ahi tuna and seaweed salad on top of a spicy tuna roll. Seaweed salad is one of my favorite sides and the tuna was just so fresh and delicious. Got a Rainbow Special roll and then another classic roll. Those were yummy as well but if I had to recommend one in particular, I'd said one hundred percent go with the Hawaiian Ahi roll, if you like tuna.

For what it is, it was good (I've been to Japan so nothing really compares). Good portions. Had the black dragon, sushi burrito, couple of individual pieces and the sweet honey. My point off is that they forgot about my sushi burrito and I had to ask about it. I didn't get an apology just a "it'll be a couple more minutes." I say it was forgotten because we had just about finished everything else and waited 5 more minutes before I asked. Otherwise it is a good place and be mindful it is CASH ONLY.

The food is amazing! The reason I’m giving a 4 is because I saw the sushi chef take some receipts with his bare hand, and then process the food without washing or even just rinsing the hands, and I’m a little concerned. If you look at one of my posted pictures you’ll see a receipt that the chef touched - there’s some sushi sauce on it and the chef just started touching salmon immediately after.

Best sushi place I have been in Baltimore. Lower one was Who's Your Daddy and the top one was Orioles Park. Who's Your Daddy was very good. Will return before I leave

This is the best place for sushi. I've had the best sushi in philly and New Jersey, but this by far the best. And at a great price. You have to try it out.

Absolutely delicious sushi! We sat at the sushi bar and watched sushi Bruce do his thing which I highly recommend. He even gave us complimentary starters and gave us extra sample. Very friendly and great hospitality. The bus boss roll was crunchy and rich. The spicy tuna roll was perfectly seasoned and didn’t even need soy sauce. The incredibly huge full option roll was the size of three rolls in one and top with a fried crab 🤭😍

Definitely have atleast a small drink menu now

They don't answer the phone, or even accept orders an hour before closing. So, no.
