Shopsin's General Store

Finally came here after living in NYC for 13 years--a very slow Saturday morning! Liked the chill vibe from the staff and the space. The menu was indeed overwhelming but I just read it through and went with my gut. The potato latke was on the dry side, but overall my "Sigh" sandwich was hearty and tasty. That egg cream, though, was utter perfection.

Very inventive. Well cooked and flavorful. The service can be salty at times but not enough to avoid.

Food is incredible, but the Guy attending fells a bit to cool with his Slayer T-shirt.

Shopsins is awesome but maybe an acquired taste - first time the food might feel too large and gimmicky. Stay with it and explore the menu, get to know the guys. You'll see.

A NYC institution! The food, in all its eclectic glory, always puts a smile on my face and fills my stomach to that "I shouldn't eat another bite but I'm gonna anyway" level. It's a place not to be missed.

Amazing food. Well worth the wait. Mac and cheese pancakes and banana brown sugar pecan pancakes are highlights.

Come hungry! So much selection and very generous portions. Delicious!!! Loved the music and old toys, nostalgia bomb. Free water and candy in the back.
