Shima-ya Takeout Sushi

Definitely one of my favourite sushi place around. It's a mom & pop shop and the cozy space means they get busy. I usually time my visit to right when they open. Their fish is always fresh and well prepared. Their tamago is hands down the best in town.

Hands down my favourite sushi place in Vancouver. The kindness of the staff and the quality of the food is top notch. Their fish is always fresh, and prepared very meticulously. If you plan on coming here, I recommend coming on Wednesday or Thursday so you have their full selection of fish to choose from (the uni goes fast).

This little hidden gem is some of the best sushi I’ve had in Canada. The fish is so fresh and the sushi rice is perfect every time.
