Sfoglina Pasta House - Downtown

Took about 20 minutes for our server to show up at our table. He was fine but nothing special. We started with the buffalo mozzarella which I actually thought was delicious. What made this meal suck was the pasta which is what they are known for. My pasta was not advertised as being smoky tasted grossly smoky. The pasta itself was good but nothing to call home about. My fiancee got the ravioli. Way too salty! To top it all off, everything is pretty pricey so it was extremely disappointing to pay that much when I could have had something better at home.

Very delicious. Mozzarella bar is spectacular. The pasta trio was wonderful. Dessert, if you have space, was good but able to be passed up on

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Sfoglina in DC and it won't be the last that's for sure. After a day of viewing wedding venues for our son and his fiancé on a cold rainy January day, the hand crafted pasta dishes were just what we needed to recharge. We could taste the care and passion that went into each of the dishes we ordered. Service was amazing. Staff is professional and friendly. Make sure to taste the house prosecco while you're there.

I'm a big fan of the menu and the decor. The dishes are packed with flavorful ingredients and not so big that they leave you feeling bloated and sluggish (which can happen at the more family-style Italian restaurants). It's a grear meeting spot for a business lunch.

Average Italian dishes with high prices. We ordered the grilled calamari which came with fried garlic and was not great. Parts of the calamari was still raw but was masked by the sauce and garlic. The two dishes we ordered were just average. The special old fashioned drink was nifty with the presented smoke.We didn't order dessert because we saw the dessert at the tables next to ours and it looked unappetizing.The service was miss. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us or take our drink orders. Overall, disappointing visit. Would not recommend. Would not return.

Amazing pasta and ambiance!! Highly recommend..

Really good food from top to bottom. The staff was very accommodating for our large group as well. Sfoglina offers pretty good Italian food without the stuffiness of a super fancy restaurant. The bucatini, ravioli, and squid ink pasta were fan favorites out of our group. And naturally the wine and cheese were excellent starts to the meal.

Fine pasta with great sauce, rigatoni and chicken sausage with tasty basil. Fine chopped salad. The service was excellent-prompt and friendly.

Romantic, authentic Italian location. Inside or outside you will not miss the aura that this restaurant creates. Whether you eat off the nibbles, small plates or regular menu you will not be disappointed. If you are a party of two split 1 "nibbles" or 1 small plate and then each get an entree and it will be perfect proportionally... Fantastic flavor

I've been here twice over a year and it was equally perfect each time. Delicious, beautiful, elegant food. FRIENDLIEST STAFF IN DC. Wonderful atmosphere. Romantic, sweet, perfect for a date or a special event.

It's hard to decide on a favorite Italian restuarant with so many fantastic choices here but this is IT. From the charming ambiance to detailed dishes and succulent menu, everything was perfection. The pappardelle, squid ink linguine were to die for and the veal was so tender & flavorful. Each sauce was so unique & flavorful without being overly salty. The meatball was so good also. Can't wait to go back!

My fiancé and I stopped here for a quick bite after work one day. We just wanted a snack before our commute home. It was a friday night and the place was hoppin, but they were able to find a table for us. Our server was so attentive and kind (I wish I remembered her name!) and all of the support workers were friendly and hardworking as well. We just got a couple of appetizers— the brussel sprouts and cauliflower (I think these are seasonal items) and the amazing meatballs. We also were automatically brought bread and dipping oil. All of the food was delicious. Normally we would like at least salt and pepper in our dipping oil but this oil was so good, it didn’t need any seasoning at all. We were very happy with our experience here and we will definitely be back to one of the locations soon for a full dinner!

Went for my birthday and they gave a nice little lemon sponge cake. Gnocchi and tortellini were delicious!

Great food. Tasty Chianti red wine. We ate st the bar. Very friendly personnel. Advise to try this restaurant but perhaps make a reservation first.

Awesome private cozy environment. Staff is ready to please. We had a wedding reception there. Awesome menu and the staff was excellent
