School House Restaurant and Tavern

I have been there 3 times,the last 2 for my wife's birthday. It was great every time. You know that every food and drink items are mostly featured locally. You sure get what you expect and pay for. I highly recommend this a little out of the place..PS THE venison is off the hook.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in the entire San Joaquin valley. We drive about 90 minutes just to visit it at least once a year. It is always beautiful, local, seasonal food prepared thoughtfully and executed perfectly. The wait staff are also fantastic; they are always knowledgable and friendly.

The friendliest staff I have ever experienced. And the food was great as well. Worth every second of the drive and every penny of the check.

This place is rocking! Beautiful old school house with a modern crowd. We only went for drinks but it was a fun experience. Great hang out for friends and couples!

Great place for food and drinks. Historical treasure for the area, local beer on draft, beautiful interior, outdoor seating available. Saturday for lunch was no wait and we were served immediately. Lots of food options. Would return here and recommend! My only recommendation would be to offer desserts with local products like honey, oranges, peaches, etc. such a lost opportunity considering their location.

Wow this was an unexpected treat for lunch! I'd heard of this place over the years as sometimes open and not, didn't realise how big a place it really is. Recent road construction has complicated things, but we will definitely be back! Great food and fine advice from staff on what to order for our preferences, confident in their kitchen and experienced with helping customers. Really interesting and comfortable bar dining, I'd like to see the main dining room next time. We will be back.

Food was really good. I had a burger with garlic fries. Burger was cooked to perfect medium. Quality of beef is really good. Servers were also polite and efficient.

While we love that the food is sourced locally and it's a upscale place to dine. We have not had good dining experiences the last several times we have gone so we are taking a break for a while. One example. We used to absolutely love their burgers. It was locally sourced grass fed beef and outstanding quality. Then they changed it so it was a $3 upcharge for the grass fed beef.. so we did that.. making the burger far too expensive in addition to being dry and less tasty the upcharged beef didn't even cover HALF the bun! Not sure how they could confidently serve that to a paying customer. Here are some pictures of how the burgers used to look.

Thanksgiving meal at the School House was great! I have wanted to go there for years. The food was presentation, service, and taste was excellent. I would have given them 5 stars if the food was as hot as the plates. Overall, I would recommend the School House and I will will definitely go back to try out there every day menu.

Tri tip shish kabob meal was great! 4 stars because grilled artichoke not on take out menu

Great place. Great food and the customer service is excellent. And my girlfriend is vegetarian and eat the best Flat Bread

Food is upscale and locally sourced produce and ingredients and shows in the results on the plate. Small menu that adjusts with the locally grown seasons. Very delicious and we'll definitely will be back again! A little pricey but totally worth it. Great for special occasions

I dine in this great spot quite often! This is the best place to grab a bite. I go there regularly. The food is very good, the staff is professional and the prices are reasonable. I like going in this spot to have a rich lunch.
