Moderate prices, good food quality, great deserts and seafood. You can see otters and seals in the window. Service is good as well.

In a Nutshell: Touristy -- more pricey than it is good.I admit, we got hooked by the huckster out front. Got a coupon for a free calamari appetizer. My wife and I ordered different fish dishes...basically the same plate with a different piece of fish laid on top. "Risotto" was a scoop of sticky rice side-dish. The vegetables were good. The fish was okay. The calamari was undercooked and flavorless -- obviously it got the "who cares, it's free" treatment by the kitchen. Service was good, view from the window was nice, but I've had a better dinner at Red Lobster for far less money.

Pretty good clam chowder, but the garlic bowl is a scam 😭 they only applied a layer of garlic butter on the Top of the sourdough and charges $2 additional for it!! Would be good if they had more garlic on the bread.

The first thing I have to say about this wonderful place is that they love veterans. 🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸 We had a party of 12 and the service that we received was phenomenal, and honestly that is not an understatement. Very courteous, very attentive, and very kind. And By the way the food is off the hook. I highly recommend this excellent place for the food and the experience.

Food was great. The service was excellent. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly, talkative, and welcoming. There was a bit of a wait during the dinner rush, but it was well worth the wait. The food tasted fresh. The calamari was excellent. Very flavorful and delicious. The oysters were also very fresh. Tasted like it was straight out of the ocean. The tacos were the only item that was not that great. I wouldn't get the tacos again. The flavor was off and it did not taste all that good. The drinks were excellent. The margarita was strong and delicious. The artichoke plate was also great. First time having artichoke, and I enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this place. It's in a great location, and it really feels like a seaside pier restaurant. I loved the atmosphere. The restaurant and restrooms were clean.

I came across a very friendly host i believe her name was pisces like the sign. Anyways she was very respectful took the time to answer some questions i had about this place, she was very patient with me. I recommend coming here only if she is their

We had an impromptu date-night here and had a great dining experience. We were seated immediately and ordered our drinks. But we were too distracted with the gorgeous harbor view decked with Christmas lights. We shared a whole crab and a seafood trio plate. We literally drooled over the butternut squash risotto- supper good. I'm going to need that recipe. Breanna, our waiter was awesome. We will be returning to enjoy other items on the menu. And we for sure recommend this place.

Second time to Monterey bay. Picked this place, let me say best clam chowder i ever tasted. Beautiful views. A most go

Service and food was amazing !

The food was excellent, the service was fine once we actually got service. We sat for 20 minutes without seeing our waiter. I was quite thirsty so I went to the bar to ask for a glass of water. The manager delivered the water to our table and grabbed the waiters attention. The waiter told us he thought we had already ordered, although from whom, I have no clue. We ordered the surf and turf. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster was cooked with garlic butter (?). I didn't even use the melted butter on the lobster. There was absolutely no need.

Good food, not the best for the money, but it is really good. What really takes the show is the service though. Execellent service which just added so much more to the experience. They gave us a free calamari appetizer and came around and handed out roses to the ladies. When we got the bill, we noticed that our clam chowder was missing and they let us know it was Thankgiving so the chowder was on them. Top notch!

My cousin was in town from Louisiana so we wanted her to try the best clam chowder. I've been to most restaurants on the wharf and they're all basic with small portions. Scales showed excellent customer service!!! Even though they were busy, they were so attentive and kept checking up on my mom. They brought us our appetizer, our drinks, bread, and our dinner. When my mom asked the busboy for more milk for her coffee, the busboy did not hesitate and brought more. I hope they pay the busboys what they deserve because they do such a great job. Most restaurants on the wharf are expensive, as was Scales, but not necessarily worth it because the food is bland or the service is basic, but Scales gave large portions and delicious food. I can honestly say that the price is worth every penny, especially for a lovely dinner on the wharf. Also, every woman gets a rose lol nice touch!

We tried this restaurant after eating at Old Fisherman's Grotto on the wharf (the previous day). And it's possibly because of that that we found this place a little underwhelming.Because even though it was less pricier than the Grotto, the food was also not as great as the Grotto. And this is relatively speaking of course. Because generally speaking, both these restaurants are pricey. Oh and both don't encourage parties with loud/noisy kids (just so you know).So take your pick. Though if you are only going to go to one of the two places, pick the Grotto.Speaking specifically of the food here - we ordered Fried Calamari & Red Snapper, and both dishes were just okay. Though just so you know - the Calamari dish was mostly full of fried tentacles (something that I personally don't prefer, though others might like it) and honestly not anything special. Much like the Red Snapper. Good, but we've had better. And definitely cheaper than here.
