Best BBQ in Maine! Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Had the ribs, chopped pork (chopped not shredded), coleslaw and potato wedges (they call them fries but they are huge wedges). My only complaint would be that they don’t serve baked beans!!

Decent food, good atmosphere. My ribs were over cooked but everything else was quite good.

Food and drink and atmosphere was great. Good for a group. Prices were pretty high.

Oh, man, just when we thought we couldn't take another bite of seafood, we found this BBQ!! We were pleased to be offered free parking, especially on a game night, and delighted by the interior atmosphere. This was such delicious BBQ, and the best brisket I've ever eaten, that we recommended it to another hotel patron who had also eaten enough seafood for the week! I hope he went! I am confident no one will be disappointed! There is a variety of menu options, and they are all appetizing!

Wicked good bbq and a great atmosphere. Everything our party had was delicious. I wish I had asked for more piickles to go home with our leftovers!! Loved the space, the seating options, even the music. We.will be back!

Mac n cheese and the smoked meat is great! And definitely all the sauces, just wish all of them were somewhere you could use them all. Not randomly out on the tables... Also the sides seemed rushed. Good food should take time.

Space has warehouse feel. And Sunday is BINGO night! Full bar and extensive 🻠menu. Oh, did I mention kick-a$$ barbecue. The brisket... Served fatty or lean was delicious. Sausage of the day 😋 was a wonderfully spicy chorizo. Last but not least... Pecan pie with what appears to be gently whipped cream 🤤

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Salvage for their awesome food and kind gesture:While my wife and I were in Maine Med delivering our newest addition, I headed over to Salvage to get some dinner for us. I mentioned to the guy at the counter we just had a baby boy when I was ordering. Getting back to the hospital with our food I found they had snuck in an extra piece of pecan pie at no charge and a nice little congratulatory note. Thanks guys for the pie and awesome BBQ! See you guys again next delivery if not sooner!

Great BBQ plus a great bar. Also plenty of room around each table. I don't like eating in crowded places. The beer on tap is from Maine, which is a good thing. They know how to brew beer. The spot is walking distance from where Taco falls plays basketball. Nice find enjoy. Casual medium prices

Being from Texas, I'll confess that I was not anxious to try BBQ in Portland, ME, of all places. However, Salvage BBQ does NOT disappoint. Upon pulling into the back parking lot, we could immediately smell the cooker, and followed our noses from there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant, with a very old-time/antique feel to it. You order at the counter and they bring the chow to you. Although we didn't drink at lunchtime, the bar has an impressive drink selection for both mixed drinks as well as craft beers. I was amazed that this place even knew what Shiner Bock beer was (a bock beer, brewed in Central Texas), let alone serves it. The food was reasonably priced and my wife is already begging to go back. I'm confident that we will before this trip is over.

As a southern transplant now living in Maine it was difficult to find good brisket and pulled pork. Every other BBQ joint just wasn't right, until I tried Salvage. The brisket is tender(even the flat) and the bark on the pulled pork is delicious. They have a selection of sauces available but honestly you don't need them and should just enjoy the meat on its own, which is the mark of proper low and slow cooking.

OMG! I cannot believe how many times I went past this place wondering if it's a good place to have a Saturday lunch. Too many.I have found a new treasure in the city. The BBQ Pork sandwich was great! Mac and cheese is my style, but the pickles they use are fantastic! I am judgey about pickles. I like these.Overall, if BBQ is what you want, you will not be disappointed.

Solid BBQ in Portland. Counter service style eats, a tasty selection of brisket, chicken, sausage, pork, ribs, and tasty sides. Decent sized bar with large beer menu. Casual and laid back. Good for groups/families.
