Stopped here after a wedding in Vermont. Didn’t know what to expect.. was old family run place very dated but friendly. Prices are steep for the lobster roll but it was delicious my wife and I demolished our platters in like 10min with butter dripping down our faces the calm chowder was top top notch!

I hadn't been here in YEARS. My last experience was not good at all. This time, the food was very good and fresh and they give you generous portions. The staff could be a bit more friendly. They weren't rude...just not real friendly.

Love the freshness of the seafood. The clambake was very good. I had the baked schrod dinner which I used to always get when we lived in the area. Was sadly disappointed in that the fish itself had NO seasoning(just the breading on the top), but it was fine once I added salt and pepper. As always, the staff was friendly and the service was good. It was good to be back.

I haven’t been here in years but I went with my girlfriend and her grandmother. We had a great meal and we got our meals very fast, portions were large and food was so good. Highly recommend going with a lived one.

Not sure what the rave is about with this place. Just had lunch here for the first time & the best thing we had was the lobster roll which was mediocre at best. We also ordered the fishermen's platter and the breading was so oily and the fish was just mush everything tasted exactly the same, super bland. The container was full of oil and obvious holes from the food and grease burning through. The customer service here was not good. They looked miserable in there which is understandable to a certain extent...we tried to be pleasant but they just looked at us like we're annoying, so whatever. Maybe I just came at a bad day 🤷‍♀️ I'll stick with my drive to CT for seafood.

Awesome food, good quantity, good prices, good service. I always go back. If you're looking to have a great lobster or seafood meal at a great price, this is the place to go. Try the clam chowder! You won't be disappointed.

We chose this place b/c of the online menu. But when you get there, it's really all about the seafood. We both had twins, and they were good-sized and cooked perfectly. Service was adequate; I think we hit a shift change. If we come back again next year and go out for twins one night, I'd probably pick this place again.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the seafood we purchased at Schermerhorn's considering how far we are from the coast. We own a place in Maine so we normally save our seafood purchases for when we are there but being that it was New Year's Eve, we wanted to splurge. First, we selected 24 little neck clams for eating on the half shell. They were generously sized, closed tightly and extremely fresh!! Next, 8 colossal shrimp for stuffing as well as lobster meat. Everything was of excellent quality. Our server was helpful and pleasant. We will DEFINITELY return.

Very old establishment in Springfield, the place is a combo seafood market & restaurant. Nothing fancy just fresh seafood from the New England region. Highly recommended if you are not looking for ambiance or table-clothed dining experience. For most bang for the bucks, go for lobsters.

This was a really fun place. You pay first and then they bring your lobster to you.We had stuffed mushrooms first which were delicious two heads for about $23. Not bad at all. It's a small place, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly wait staff.

Definitely want to check out when you are near. Cheap and good. Different... you order pay sit and get served.
