Established in 1947Salerno's first opened it's doors in May, 1947 in the Southend of Bridgeport. The war was over and the G.I.s brought back a taste for pizza. Billy and Tina worked hard to get their little place going. In 1954, the pizzeria was moved to the East End of Bridgeport and renamed The C&C Pizzeria. There, the business flourished and it was decided to introduce our family's recipes along with the pizza and grinders. An opportunity opened in 1970 to open a pizzeria in the Cutrufello Building in Stratford, CT. The family decided to rename the pizzeria. Salerno's Apizza has been in the same location ever since. Today, Salerno's in Stratford serves not only the original pizza it first served in 1947....but, a selection of homemade (from scratch) pastas and sauces, specialty dishes and offers a dining room seating 70. The decor is retro 1940s and the music is Doo-Wop. Salerno's also accepts phone- in orders for pick-up. All of our recipes are available as catering trays. Bring the family!

The food is excellent, the workers are very nice and helpful, they make a person feel very comfortable. The food is great, I tell all my friends and relatives about Salerno's. I also tell them about the plumb pizza.
