Sala Thai

This place has some of the best Thai that I have found in Madison and at a good price too. Eater beware, this is Thai spicy...not American spicy. Don't try to be brave.

Sala Thai is a casual and relaxed place for dinner. Don't stop if your in a hurry, it's not fast food but it's friendly and the food is very good. Spicy dishes have wonderful flavor with good heat. They don't just burn. I've gone to other restaurants for Thai but find myself going here more often now.

Very cozy inside, inviting decor. All the food is made to order, so expect to wait. I was solo and just wanted curry chicken and rice (carbo loading the night before Madison Marathon) and they had that dish ready. They seated me and treated me very well. The chicken was super tender and the curry was savory with just the right amount of spice. Looking forward to going back. Recommended

Cozy little mom and pop restaurant with excellent curries and soup. I recommend calling ahead if ordering take-out and don't forget it's cash only.

Original, personal, fresh and recommended. Well, we didn't like the pad Thai thick seasoning, and the long waiting time. All the rest was special and tasty: viatnamise style fresh rolls, tofu coconut soup, (too cold) sticky rice. Thanks for a great service!

Love this place!! They have amazing Laotian dishes as well!! I would highly recommend, but remember it's cash only. I think they might have an atm there, but it probably charges.

The food was very good! I did takeaway and called ahead. I had about a 10 minute drive and waited another 20 minutes. They were not very busy, so be aware the service time may be more lengthy than other places. The decor is pretty cool. There are a lot of Thai artifacts. There are also a lot of really nice potted planets and a very large aloe Vera plant in the front windows. The exhaust fan could run more. My clothes smelled like Thai food after I left. They have a descent amount of craft beers for small eatery. They only accept cash as a form of payment.

Absolutely excellent. Great service, delicious food. Our son (4 years old) loved the little toy area. Cash/check only, beware! I kind of like that, though, these days :)

Looked for a place that was open on Christmas Eve, and with great luck we found this gem. Slightly out of the way and so worth it. Well seasoned dishes, great service, and homey ambiance with associated cultural flavor.

I had green curry,. The best ever ive had among the 30 odd Thai restaurants I have been.. so thick and full of flavours.. it's a must try .. also their tofu Tom yum soup was fantastic! Only disadvantage about this place is that they don't accept credit or debit cards..

Cash only spot with great apps at great prices. I just got take out but the interior really reminded me of the little family restaurants I loved in Thailand.

Last week was the first time in this fine restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the excellent service, with the great meal and wine and with the decent payment. We will surely visit there in a short time.

Best Thai food in Madison! The service can be kinda of slow but it's worth the wait. Best Vietnamese Spring Rolls in Madison!
