The miso butterfish literally melted in my mouth. Everything grilled was excellent. Big portions for the price. The servers were very attentive and the food came out so fast. Went for dinner last night and went back for lunch today - that’s how much I enjoyed it!

The food was okay, but doesn't equal the price. For a small restaurant, they take forever on bringing you food and water/drinks. Also, a lot of the things on the menu (in the store, not the online menus) were not available either because they ran out, or because they discontinued the item. We saw one of the waitress use the menu book to push away crumbs of food from the table to the ground, and just placed the menu back in the pile without cleaning it. The experience was so bad that we just left a $5 tip.

Cute little place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of town. You forget you're in the midst of a concrete jungle as soon as you're inside. Service was impeccable. The food was excellent quality, however it just wasn't my taste. Maybe it was too authentically Japanese for my Americanized taste buds? My mom grew up with more traditional Japanese food and loved the food here

As an out of towner, I was looking for a place with great food and none of the crowds and hype of some of the trendier locations, and so picked this place for dinner. I'm so glad I did! The food was wonderful! I ordered the hearts of palm tempura, which was a new dish for me. It's served with a small bowl of salt flakes to dip in rather than a standard tempura sauce, and it was exceptional. I now have a new favorite tempura. For the main course, I ordered the Chirashi, which was very well prepared. The quality of the fish was excellent, the rice was perfectly prepared, and the Wasabi was very fresh, and seemed like it may have been freshly grated, not the standard green paste from a squeeze tube. The atmosphere was calm and friendly, a great place for a family meal. The next time I'm back in Honolulu, I'll be dining here again!
