Opened as Nara Station on Osaka Electric Railroad in 1914 (Taisho 3). Renamed Daiga Nara Station in 1928 (Showa 3) and passed through Kinki Nihon Nara Station in 1941 (Showa 16) due to merger of Kankyu Nara Station in 1944 (Showa 19). It was renamed Kintetsu Nara Station in 1970 (Showa 45) and is now the current station. It was a ground station when it first opened, but was underground in 1969.It is far from JR Nara Station and is connected by bus. I think it is fun to walk around while looking at the shops because it is also within walking distance.

Nearest to Nara Deer park. Convenient to travel to Osaka and Kyoto. Lots of nice food around the station. Lots of Locker available for large luggages. Easy to have day from Osaka to Kyoto or the other way round while making a short stop at Nara just got those cute little deers.

This is our stop for our Nara temple trip. A fast and easy way to get here we took the limited or express line.

The "better" Nara station due to its proximity to Nara Park and associated temples and shrines. Spacious and clear signs on which exit to follow for the tourist attractions. Do change money at the machine on the first floor (instead of at the basement souvenir shop) for better rates (I checked Korean won).
