Saffron De Twah

I had lamb ribs and the harrisa potatoes. So good. The rib had a nice flavor. I didn't know what to expect since I had never had lamb ribs. My friend got the chicken sandwich. She liked it. There was this other dish with eggplants I believe... It was good! My friend had that. And another friend got the shrimp! When I tell you those shrimp were fresh and hot (temperature wise) they were kinda like perfect! The owner and his mom are amazing. Such a nice environment! Very reasonably priced! I can't wait to go again.

Great food. Staff was amazing. Had the fish and chips, girlfriend had the chicken sandwich. Both were beyond expectation... if you are in the area, it's a must try!

There's not words enough for this little known gem. The food is amazing. The modern take on classic Moroccan with a bit of Texas (look at the beef rib) is unreal. Really would like to give this six stars!

Super friendly and welcoming! Don’t be off put by the outside, once you try the food, it speaks for itself. The Chicken Sandwich was absolutely amazing and you would have a hard time finding a better one in downtown Detroit. Not to mention it was HUGE. Everything else was on point. Try the Saffron Tomato dip. Will be back

Awesome fried chicken sandwich, lamb tagine, and roasted beet salad. The coffee was excellent, and the food came out fast. Plus it’s cute and cozy and the chef/owner even came to say hi

We were at Saffron De Twah today as a meetup group at the big dinner table. We got to taste almost everything with family style platters to share. All was wonderful! The owner shared a lot of his international food knowledge with us and will continue to expand the Moroccan menu beyond what it already has.

Small But Powerful!Enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Saffron De Twah is jem worth finding. The staff was excellent in helping to select item from the menu. You order at the kitchen, and your food is brought to your table. Served in stylish dinnerware or packaged in earth-friendly containers for carry out. The flavors are amazing, a mix of North African and French influences with a modern twist. We drove from Berkley (11 Mile & Woodward) and will be returning often in the future. The date cinnamon lemonade is a must try!

Wonderful menu with new additions every couple months worth coming back for. Prepared with love and care and full of Moroccan flavors. A nice balance for people with or without adventurous tastes. Creative and delicious drinks.Cozy atmosphere to get away from the winter cold and cool and refreshing to get away from the summer heat.

The owner is a really nice guy, who also happens to be an excellent chef. The chicken sandwich is amazing. It beats the pants off Popeyes. I also had the Moroccan coffee while I was there, and the potatoes. All the flavors were top notch, overall a fantastic experience. The food was so good, I forgot I was cold (no central heating).

There is no way I could give this place anything less than a 5 star rating. Located in the most unassuming spot, you could easily miss it if you weren't looking hard enough. The owner and staff are some of the most welcoming people out there. He prepared my food himself and we had great conversation at the same time; I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. As for the food, it was absolutely out of this world. My wife and I shared the Catfish and Chicken sandwiches, along with some potatoes, hummus and tomato goat cheese dip. The portions were healthy and the prices could not be more reasonable. We've already gone back and will continue to do so!
