Russia House

Absolutely DELICIOUS FOOD and drinks. My husband and I came here for a mini-anniversary celebration and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was very classy and our waitress was very polite. She even told us about the Russian culture and whatnot. They are also family friendly and had a nice high chair for my daughter. We will definitely be back!!

Me and my boyfriend went 02.29.2020 to Russia house in DC and it was our last visit to this restaurant. Our server was probably some Russian girl, she was very mean to us. We had to wait for drink 30 minutes and then food didn't come how we ordered so we asked her to call manager and instead of apology from manager (also some Russian guy) he starts argue with us. If you want to spend time in some nice restaurant please don't go to Russia House.

Fantastic food and excellent service.

It was great. Met a wonderful waiter (David) and made new friends. Excellant potato and duck confit. Georgian wine was excellent.

Wonderful server. Great selection of premium vodkas and cavier. Food well prepared. Nice experience.

Bartender charged full price for happy hour drinks. We double checked before we ordered that we would get happy hour prices ($7 each), and that was confirmed. Then we got our check and it was $30 for two drinks. The waitress was very kind and I felt bad for the misunderstanding because apparently our drink was a modification of something on the happy hour menu, but the bartender came over to our table and said "whats the diffrence, a couple dollars? You really want me to go change the price?" I said "yes, we'd like the happy hour prices." And he gave us some ugly looks, left for about 1 second and returned and said "no, you are paying full price."So thats great. Enjoy the few bucks. We'll make sure to take our regular business to the variety of better choices on the street.

Great time. Food, drinks and service were top-notch. Recommend reservations. We tried all the classics, and they did not disappoint: borscht, perogies, Chicken Kiev and the filet. They are renovating the main bar. I'm looking forward to coming back when it's finished.

I've been going to Russia House now at least once a year for several years, and it is definitely my favorite place to go eat. The staff is welcoming, there is not a dish that I haven't enjoyed, and the dining areas provide a nice cozy atmosphere. I know a lot of reviewers here or on Yelp or other sites like to highlight the extensive vodka menu (which is ample and not to be beat!), but you would do yourself a disservice if you skipped the house-infused vodkas. They have a horseradish vodka that is absolutely divine in a martini. And for those who want good deals, be sure to check out the Restaurant Week special that they have at Russia House. I cannot say enough good about the drinks, the food, and the staff and atmosphere.

Fantastic Russian restaurant and vodka bar.

My wife is Russian so when we were in DC and found this place, my wife wanted to show me a true Russian food and drink experience and this did not disappoint. Food was awesome Russian cuisine and they had the traditional Russian way to drink real, imported Russian Vodka that’s hard to find in US. Vodka you can actually take a shot of without mixing. Smooth. Russian Standard is excellent vodka but the Beluga was the BEST! Very cool building, interior, etc. Upstairs bar if you want to keep the party rolling. If you want real Russian food and drink, do not miss this chance.

A very worthy find. We walked the neighborhood trying to get into a restaurant. Every place was packed, but Russia House found us a table and squeezed us in. Our wait staff was very pleasant and promptly served us an excellent cocktail and a great Russian beer. Both of our meals were excellent and seemed to be very authentic (although I don't claim to be a Russian food expert). The prices were reasonable for a Washington DC restaurant. I would definitely go back.
