RuRu's Tacos & Tequila

This place is a cozy little spot in midtown. I went and got three different tacos. They had a few different vegetarian options, which was great. The server was pleasant. The tacos themselves were wonderful and had a lot of flavor. The parking situation was not the best because I was not familiar with the area. There is only a small amount of parking where the GPS takes you, which is actually the back of the building. They had a larger lot around back that was on a different street. The back entrance was not wheelchair accessible though. I would definitely go back again.

The food is good at a decent price, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere and ambience definitely more than make up for it though. Very cute and quaint feel.

RuRu's is one of my favorite taco joints. I originally went to the Charleston, SC location and was immediately in love with it. For my wife's birthday we learned they have a location in Charlotte, NC and it is the original. It was equally as good. I love the vibe of the place and we felt like family. Fantastic taco names but even better are the tastes of the tacos. Hard to beat RuRu's

This place has $2 Tacos on Tuesdays (Taco Tuesdays). Nestled in the heart of Myers Park on Providence Rd, RuRu’s has a chill and comfortable ambience. Parking can be hard to find, as the lot in front of the restaurant is small, although there are a couple of parking lots closeby within walking distance. Now, about the food. My go-to is the buffalo chicken taco. The chicken has a good crunch, but the real winner is the buffalo sauce. Tangy and spicy, it goes well with the cheese and sour cream. Pair it with a corona, and you’ve got a winner.

My first time trying this place was yesterday. I went in with high expectations after hearing what everyone had to say and the reviews of the place, they were mostly spot on. The salsa is not free. You have to order it if you want it, I recommend getting it. They have a trio with guacamole, salsa and queso for 16 dollars. Not a bad deal. We had the guacamole and practically scraped the bowl clean. We both ordered tacos, the list is very descriptive. The only taco I wasn’t impressed with was the long dong duck, it was flavorful but the steak was on the fatty side, if you appreciate that then order it! My partner ordered pork belly carnitas and we both swooned over it. Get the white beans, they’re a ruru classic, different but bold flavors. The patio is fantastic, 5 dollar margarita Monday’s can’t be beat. I will come here again and try a quesadilla or burrito next time! They also participate in 2 dollar taco Tuesdays.

Came here for the first time for my friends birthday, and it was an awesome experience. Super cheap but awesome quality of tacos that we ordered. Always check for the daily specials. Definitely coming back with my friends sometime soon. The vibe and interior design was very enjoyable as well.

Foof and service excellent. Taco names are movie lines. Will be back.

We always look forward to coming here for the trio appetizer, however recently they changed the salsa and we were so disappointed. Won’t be getting that anymore. Other than that the food & drinks—especially margaritas are great & fresh. Hoping they go back to original salsa recipe.

I’ve been here 3x prior and enjoyed my experience. I went yesterday with my adult child and one of the hostess said it’ll be a 15-20min wait. I asked if we can sit and the bar and she said it was not a problem. While my son and I ate we noticed 2 tables by the kitchen that were empty. Those same 2 tables stayed empty by the time we paid the check and left. They were busy and they sat people after us but most were outside.

One of the few places in Charlotte where you get amazing tacos with perfect ambience and settings for perfect evening.

This cozy and quaint place is the perfect spot to enjoy "Taco Tuesday" with friends! The drinks are awesome and the food is great. The outdoor eating sections have a traditional "beer garden" feel while not being too distant from the main setup. Prices are decent for the quality of food you get.

It was absolutely delicious. The steak was so juicy and cooked to perfection. The fried Mahi was so good. We also shared a steak quesadilla and it just melted in your mouth. We came in during the early afternoon. Thom was our server and he was such a rockstar. Definitely coming back with friends.
