Route 58 Delicatessen

Food was great but extremely overpriced and oversized. My husband loved the food but hated the price. The turkey sandwich was great. The onion rings were awesome. The fries were good. The cheesecake looked delicious. The restaurant seems packed.

So I was skeptical about how amazing this place was but figured it was as good as any for a date night. I was AMAZED!!! This place was great. They give you a sample of the corned beef to get your taste buds excited. There are so many choices it was hard to choose so we went with the $20 famous Reuben..... DEFINITELY TRY IT!! WAS AMAZING. The hype is real about this place. We tried the bacon cheese fries because of reviews saying they were amazing. I agree that the amount of bacon on them is insane and worth it. I did not, however, like the cheese. Has a weird flavor. Tried the hot dogs since they are buy 1 get 1 free on Friday and the bite I took was delicious. We bought way to much food to try different things, and we will be eating the leftovers for a couple days. Try this place. Brian was an excellent server! Not pushy like some servers can be, had great suggestions.

I got the Reuben and it was delicious!!! It was big enough to share with my fiance who also loved it. Will be going back. Worth the price

For me, this is the restaurant of bests. It had the best egg cream I've ever had, best Reuben sandwich I've ever had, and the best strawberry cheesecake I've ever had. My wife ordered the BLT and, other than the one I make at home myself, it is also the best. The perfectly well done crinkle cut fries rank up there in the top three. The service and atmosphere are perfect. The restaurant location is easy to get to and there is ample parking. Pricing seems a little high at first but once you realize how much food will be going home with you for later, you realize it's a deal! This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I will be making many more visits. I'm going to try some of the other items on the menu to see if there are any more "bests" 😁.

Absolutely. Phenomenal. Waitress (Sydney) had perfect timing, very knowledgeable & gave us the best dining experience. As for the food, I may not have been on this Earth for very long (a mere 22 years) but the pastrami burger, was the best burger I've ever had, then killed me and brought me back. The prices are perfect for the portions you get (I won't need to go grocery shopping for another two weeks) and overall this place is warm & welcoming. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere, the food, the family valuing staff, even the drinks!!! Every.Single.Part.Was.Authentic I have never experienced something so genuine to New York culture and food, well other than actually going there! Tanya, was my server and was so helpful navigating the menu and pricing, her service was perfect. I wont ever go ANYWHERE for a Reuben again ❤

Typically the best deli in the area. Today was ok. Floor slippery and smelled like yesterday's wash bucket. Service poor order not correct after two requests and forgot to bring an order. Combo pastrami and corned beef tasted fine but the two who ate it had upset stomachs later on. Bill not correct additional one dollar charge for toasted rye recommended by wait staff without informing customer of one dollar extra charge for twenty dollar sandwich really? Hope today was an anomaly.

Huge fan of this place, HUGE. You know what else is huge? Everything you order while you're here. I've never gotten something I disliked while here at Route 58. It's all fantastic and, while a little pricey, you're going to get at least two meals out of a single order. Did I mention I'm a huge fan?? If not, I am and you should be too.

I've heard stories about this place and seen the pictures, but one has to experience it for themselves to do it justice. I ordered the hot pastrami and I'll start off by saying my jaw nearly shattered the table when they brought my sandwich to me. The size was unreal. They definitely earned my repeat business based on for presentation alone. As for the taste, it was succulent, juicy, and delicious. Best of all the meat wasn't salty or dried out. The entire time I was eating the sandwich, I didn't want the experience to end because it tasted so good and perfect. The cheesecake I ordered was even more otherworldly. Rich, thick, not too sweet and a perfect consistency. My only disappointment was the regular fries I ordered. In our batch a lot of them were a little overcooked 😓. That would have brought my review down to 4 stars, but the sandwich and cheesecake were so darn good that they made up for the anomaly. 10/10 wood do again.

Where has this place been all my life?! I wish I discovered it sooner. We both ordered a 1/2 pound hot pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and Russian dressing with a side of fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. We needed some togo boxes because we were only able to eat half of our sandwich. Got a piece of strawberry cheesecake to go which was also delicious. This place was amazing and we will definitely be back soon!

This is one of our favorite places to go. The food is always great and the really big servings are worth the price. We order what we want and plan for take out. Definitely need to get one of their desserts to go every time!

This place is amazing! Brian was our waiter and he was so great! He was friendly, talkative and very helpful with his suggestions for food. The food was amazing as well. The portions are HUGE. My fiancé ordered a double Reuben fries (Pictured) and They had to use two full to-go boxes to box it up when we left. We’ll definitely be coming back.

No other place like this in Hampton Roads. The sandwiches were hot, stacked, and delicious! We ordered a slice of cherry cheesecake and it was as big as your head!
