Great chicken sandwich and plenty of sides. A water freely. What is the fuss about popeye when you have a place like this. Not enough room without the patio. Neighborhood makes it either more or less relaxing

The fried chicken with Nashville sauce was pretty good. However, they forgot to give me that peach cobbler in my take away. So marks deducted for service. This is a take away place only. Has just enough space to wait while the food is prepared.

The food is fine overpriced but the cashier a African American Lady with a fro just seems miserable and is extremely rude

Despite a simple menu, it was still extremely difficult to make a decision on what to order (not a bad thing as everything sounded amazing). Ended up with a spicy chicken sandwich on brioche w/ a side of mac & cheese + green beans. The kitchen seemed disorganized and my meal took ~15 minutes from fryer to plate which seemed lengthy for a small counter serve joint where only two or three people were ahead of me. My main disappointment/reason I cannot rate above three stars is that I was only given the sandwich + mac at the onset with an assurance my green beans were no more than two minutes away. Two minutes passed....then five....then ten. At this point I was finishing up my sandwich + mac and assuming that the second side would never come. Portions were large enough that I didn't need the additional side and ultimately left without receiving it or saying anything. One missing side is w/e at the end of the day, and it did not diminish the satisfaction I got from the other 2/3 of my meal. On principal of the matter I wish there had been some initiative from the restaurants end to follow through or offer a replacement item. I will not be avoiding Roost after this experience, nor will I dissuade others from ordering, but in no way am I in a rush to go back.

This place has so great food. It is different and well worth the wait when you get it. The nighttime work crew can be a little rowdy. But I guess that’s where the flavor of the food comes from lol! It’s nice to take a break from the normal chicken spots!

This is is a touch of the South in Chicago. Fresh biscuits and fried chicken. The chicken is so crispy and has a wonderful flavor. Roost is located in area on the outside of the loop. Only a few blocks from the L.
