I'm so glad they finally got a bigger place. I've loved it for years. Oreo cake is especially good

The quality of their baked goods have changed since moving from their tiny shop on K street to the huge location on J street. I’d say the cakes are average, lately tends to be on the drier side. The pies are very good, however. I still like to come here because it’s a cute spot for people to hang out at since it’s located in the heart of midtown.

I've only been here once and it was quick and easy. The pecan pie I had was just amazing. I'd easily come back for more of what I got at this place, courteous, kind, and nothing bad. Thanks much.

My last visit here was frustrating. I love this place but this last time was 👎. Our table hadn't been cleaned, still had other dishes on it.. none of the employees were smiling!!! They all looked like they hated their job. The young man at the register was the only one I saw genuinely smiling. And my dessert wasn't even good! I ordered piece of chocolate cream pie and the crust was terrible...

We love this yummy bakery only reason for not giving 5 Star is the prices seem so steep. I went family we got a treat for 4 people and it came out to over $40 for cake slices. I will say they are delicious but expensive. Good treat for once in a while splurge.

This is a must visit place for Sacramento. Rick's Dessert Diner has a really cool 50's aesthetic and a whole bunch of desserts. If it's past midnight and you need some cake, this is an excellent choice. I haven't had anything there I've been unhappy with!

Hadn't been here since I was a kid....this is a new location for me but there is plenty of dessert choices. Even parking wasn't too bad. Just know the line at the counter can be very long and the atmosphere is LOUD. The desserts we had were good enough but as my dad would say "nothing to write home about."

Always a great treat. I use to service the diners AC systems, and had the privilege to see the chef's working hard and creating the delicious desserts. Even crowded you can find a spot to sit down.

Rick's has been around in Sacramento for a long time for a very good reason. They make great desserts and they're open late at night when you actually really need those desserts. My favorite thing here is their brownies, which are awesome with ice cream when warmed up. Don't miss a chance to visit this historic place.

It was really good, i got some sort of chocolate cake and it was really sweet but also kind of tart. Overall it was delicious!

Just looking into the dessert case alone is mesmerizing. The cake slices we chose were red velvet and sometype of lemon poppy cake. Both of the slices were great!

Desserts and the scene at this spot is excellent. Nothing to complain about. The prices are good for what you get. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Kansas City.

Best desserts ever! From their cakes to their pies, their tarts, their cookies... everything is absolutely delicious! Worth the wait in line!

Dessert was dry. I think a Costco cake is just as good as this. Also, we found a hair in our cake, as we were eating it. When we took it back they refunded the cost of they piece we ordered. But not the tax? Not the cost of our total bill. They left the cake in the display to keep selling hairy cake to other customers. I almost gagged. That's what hair nets are for.
