Rex 1516

This was the best experience I could have hoped for! The staff was the best service ever! We had the brisket small plate as an appetizer- amazing, so tender and beautiful plating. And it came out pretty fast!! For our main course he got the St. Louis ribs and I got a delicata squash salad. Both absolutely perfect. I told the staff ahead of time that I bought this trip to philly as a present for my husband's birthday, and man, they really went out of their way to make it special for him. They gave us the milk and cookies dessert with a candle and the waiter even sang! Such a good dinner. Love the staff.

If you want an intimate space and you enjoy "American faire with a Southern flare" then this is your place. I ordered a rack of ribs and I could not finish them. They were delicious! The collection of spirits was impressive as well. I highly recommend Rex 1516!

Good food. Had the chicken and waffles Benedict with potatoes. Chicken was delicious. A little salty but still very good. Waffle was terrific. The egg was whatever but it didnt take away from the dish. Pancakes were also very good. Some other people with me had the green eggs dish and they really enjoyed it. The weavos rancheros was the one thing that we really didnt enjoy much. Also, they asked if my 4 year old daughter wanted her juice in sippy cup. We thought that they would just bring out a plastic cup with a lid but they brought our a legit sippy cup. It was nasty since we did not know how well they would wash that and how many other kids had that in their mouths before. Sippy cup and the weavos rancheros is what prevented a 5 star review

This is a nice little intimate bar, with cool staff, good patrons, and quality products.

Excellent food! Undeniably fantastic cocktails! Off the wall Happy Hour specials! I don't understand how there's not a line at the door - that might be what takes Rex to the next level.

Their burger is one of the best I've ever had in my life, no exaggeration.

Food was okay.I had the grit and sausage. The grit was heavily buttered. The sausage was salty but goes well with the grits.My wife enjoyed the Shrimp wit grit. She said it was very good.There was condensation from the vent dripping every few second.

Went for brunch and it was not bad at all. The shrimp and grits could have been a little more flavorful but were solid and used REAL GRITS. The cornbread we ordered was given to us completely cold for some reason so I asked if it was supposed to be warm, was told yes absolutely and they took back the cold one and brought us a fresh hot one at no charge so that made up for it. My cousin said her chicken and waffles was great, the rest of us had the shrimp and grits because the pic looked soooo good. I would go again.

Great celebration. The place is quite quaint and cozy. The service was great. -Attention to detail and knowledgeable about entrees. Had the grits and eggs (my fav) and it did not disappoint. I could not believe how all the ingredients came together so well. Rude to inhale your food but (quietly) I did:) Looking forward to going back. And this time, I'll ask for extra shrimp on my grits. I dont know what the chef seasoned it with, BUT it was beyond measure!! I've traveled the world (eating the entire way) and this ranks high. Really high.

Great hospitality. The staff was very welcoming and observant. This place has an awesome atmosphere. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
