Rene's Bakery

About

After working at various restaurants and country clubs in the city, A. Rene Trevino got tired of working for other people making only certain types of desserts. He wanted to provide stellar European-style breads and pastries at a price and in a way that everyone could enjoy. With a deep breath, A. Rene Trevino opened Rene's Bakery, Inc on March 12, 2004. With a small staff (of ONE!), the bakery started with a handful of products to sell. Over time, Rene has added staff and product. Now, in its second year, Rene's Bakery, Inc boasts eight full- and part-time employees with a rather large sampling of breads/pastries, given the size of the bakery.

Thank God it is fairly priced or I'd be so fat. By my taste the best croissants in Indiana; its fairly close to magic. Vanilla is anything but vanilla here, and my favorite. Year round I routinely will buy loaves of their specialty breads and whole fruit pies. The fruit pies are always seasonal. Make sure you call in orders a day in advance for cakes and pies, and go in early for anything not ordered. Most all of the selection will sell out daily, but everything is good. I'm picking up a cake today for my wife's sister. If you're just finding out about this place, then don't hesitate.
