Solid aquarium overall. Great for adults and kids. Yes, some animals could be cared for better. Not as bad as zoos as far as animal neglect/improper care. And don’t come on weekends. Too crowded. Other than that, a fun and educational experience. It’s basically structured around a giant cylindrical center tank as the main exhibit, loaded full of various marine life. You walk up a spiraling ramp to see everything inside. There’s a mob of penguins right when you walk in and other side exhibits as you go along. They have the usual “interaction” type stuff: You can pet stingrays, etc.

Nice aquarium. Can get very crowded & way it is designed to funnel everyone in the same place/same direction is hard to maneuver at times. The large tank in the middle that the facility us built around is quite the sight. Penguins are adorable!

My kids love aquariums and we have been to a few to say the least. This one was just the right size to keep a 6 year old entertained and 1010 year old busy. The part they liked the best was the touch tank.

They do not. They do have a large tank that is situated in the middle of the Aquarium that you go around and up on a ramp.

Yeah you have a hand stamp for re-entry! Super convenient for a lot of people since they have a theater across the area.

Yes

There is a big parking building next to it and two fairly large lots. Not worth checking the building if your time is limited. If the lots are packed, it is also good to go to the awesome restaurants nearby and parking there.

Box turtles and other chelonians don’t have external ears. They have a layer of skin located on each side of their head well behind the eyes, which forms a tympanic membrane. The membrane protects the middle ear. They have an auditory nerve, as well as inner ear structures that hear low-frequency sounds in the 50 to 1,500 Hz range. This is a very limited hearing range and it’s speculated that the ear may be used mostly for balance. In fact, many of the low-frequency sounds they’re able to “hear” also cause ground and water vibrations, which they know how to interpret. Still, they respond to mating calls and emit a few other sounds.
