Ray's Hellburger, Too

Great place if you're starving and need something filling and quality!

So they may not be the legendary DC burger place from 7 years ago, but they are still one of the best. The burgers are money. Big greasy meat softballs topped with whatever depravity you come up with. However, the best thing there is the fried chicken sandwich. This thing is a monster, hence the name, monster chicken. It has a couple pickles, some mustard BBQ sauce and a bun; basically an oversized Chick-Fil-A without the political baggage.

Awesome burger, I got the #7. The inside is a little bare, but that’s fine - I think they’re going for a “hole in the wall” vibe. The tater tots were BANGING - you should definitely order them if you go.

This place is absolutely phenomenal I'm actually sitting here right now, shoveling food in my craw, while my wife does her millennial Instagram thing. We were initially given directions to some hipster poetry restaurant, but before crossing the street I heard the familiar sounds of early 80's hair metal bellowing from the door behind us. So we decided to see where the rabbit-hole would take us, and let me say, this has to be the best burger joint in DC. My burger was incredibly succulent; exploding with flavor juices, the perfect amount of seasoning, and the right combination of pickles and bacon all served by a guy who looks like he just came back from a cannibal corpse concert.If I didn't hate downtown DC so much I'd be here everyday. Great tunes, laid back environment, killer burger, fries and a shake.

I really enjoyed the burgers at this place. Cooked to a medium rare and passes the squeeze test. However the store was understaffed, it took us around 45 minutes before we could order and receive our food.

The interior of Ray’s Hell Burger doesn’t look like much, but don’t let that put you off. The burgers are seriously delicious and are fairly priced. I got my burger with an order with tater tots which was great. I’ll be returning for sure.

This was an awesome place to eat! The patties are thick, and the veggies fresh. For $10 I got the #2 Mack burger, a small order of tots (which was not small), and a drink. The burger was to die for. I will definitely go back before my stay in DC is over.

Doesn't look like much of a restaurant--even compared to the usual stripped-down Ray's aesthetic. However, quite possibly the best burger and fries in the city. So happy to have Hell Burger here in the city. We both favor the bacon swiss mushroom and onion burger, but it's hard to go wrong here. Hoping the menu grows as more people find tham--and outside seating would be amazing! Service is casual and friendly.

Very good burger. Very unique burgers at different times. Not as good as they used to be when they were in Georgetown. It's still great.

For the love of God- get the Umami Burger- you will not regret it! We tried the Umami, #3, #1, chicken burgers, fried and sweet potato fries. A little pricey, it totally worth it for a hand crafted burger and ice cold bottled sodas. The place is nice and clean, the attendant very friendly, patient and knowledgeable, he took the time to explain most of their burgers for us first timers. All in all a great burger experience.

The food is delicious. The people are very nice and friendly. It is a great place to meet a friend for lunch m.

Let me tell you something....this was the BEST burger I have ever had! I'm normally a extra pickles extra ketchup burger eater, and I didn't need ANYTHING on this burger! It was delicious from beginning to end. I can't wait to go back.

Ray’s Hell Burger focuses on their quality burgers and chicken sandwiches. Their bare-bones decor that is showing some heavy wear and tear doesn’t distract from the otherwise great food. For burgers, you can order a single 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound, or double or triple up for the serious carnivores.

Still my favorite burger ever. Period. I’m traumatized they don’t have any locations in VA anymore. I can care less about the decor or the service like other reviewers. Both are totally fine and I’m there to eat the best burgers.

Wow. I found this place by skimming reviews, and it exceeded my expectations. Amazing burger, fast and friendly service, and great sweet potato fries.
