To My Son Fortune,I am 62 years old and have just "experienced" my first Rao's meatball, thanks to you! As you know, I was born at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, raised in the Bronx, and moved to Westchester County in my teens. I have dined out, more than most, throughout the tri-state area and much to my dismay this evening, I passed on an opportunity to dine at Rao's in the 80's. I have been making meatballs for over 35 years, for friends and family, taught to me by my grandmother, from my great-grandmother's recipe, (brought to this country from Calabria, Italy in 1895). Every single person that has tasted my meatballs has claimed they are the best, ever. Clearly, not one of them had ever had a meatball from Rao's! (Love you grandma)RAO'S , HANDS DOWN, MAKES THE BEST MEATBALL ON THE PLANET.

Love the marinara sauce. Pasta dishes are amazing. Authentic Italian flavors awesome. Reservations...virtually impossible to get. They have no menu, are open Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM. Closed Sunday. The 12 tables are basically reserved for the rich and famous. Your best bet is to grab some drinks at the bar, be friendly with the bartender, and hope you can get the owners table. It is definitely worth a try. Good luck! 🌻

Perfect version of Italian American dishes served in a private club. Meatballs and seafood salad are a must. The staff is personable and will become your best friends by the end of the night.

Very Exclusive and out of the time. This place has a special atmosphere. Reminds me of old mafia movies. Food is great and excellent service, the staff will definitely make you feel at home.
