Another excellent meal at Johnny Farina!! I took my son to see Cats at the NAC, and we stopped here for dinner first. As we were going straight to the show, I didn't want to carry around leftovers so we ordered one appetizer, one entree and one desert to share. The meatball appetizer was three small fist sized balls. Finely ground meat, with a zesty pomodoro sauce, fresh basil and parmesan. I grew up in a very Italian town, and it tasted like the Nonnas used to make! We shared the Moe's flatbread, wood fired pizza. It had Prosciutto Cotto, Salami and cured pepperoni. We finished our meal with a very delicious sticky Toffee pudding (rivaling any that one would get in an Irish pub!). The staff was prompt and friendly and our waiter was exceptional. My 11 year old asked a lot of questions and is very chatty- our waiter was super patient. The discount for going to the NAC after was a nice bonus after such a great dining experience.

My husband and I ordered 2 pizzas. First one looked great, the second one was burnt significantly around the edge and at least 2" inwards. Waiter proceeded to serve it to me, no apologies for the burnt crust. Firstly, kitchen should not have plated it. Waiter should have requested another be made. When we did complain they offered free desert, or extra entree to take home. Or 15% discount. We chose the discount, but foolish I thought it would apply to whole bill. Wrong, only to 1 pizza. Very disappointed with service.

Lovely little Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and fun. Food was great...nice sized portions...really tasty and lots of options.

The staff at Johnny Farina were extremely friendly, helpful to each other and showed a good team environment. The bread they gave us to start with super soft, warm with just the perfect amount of salt on the top. Extra virgin olive oil that came on this side was super delicious. The pizza was a great size with quality toppings. The salmon was tender and moist and the chili is super thick and delicious. I recommend the tiramisu for dessert. I recommend this restaurant and I don't think that you would be disappointed.

One of the best restaurants downtown. I've been enjoying dinners and lunches here for the past 4 years and never had a bad experience. The pizza is spectacular, steak gorgonzola is to die for! Awesome to go lunch bar always great during the week. Friendly staff and bar tenders, I recommend very highly.

Honestly I arrived with my guest and the host greeted us and followed up by inquiring on if we had reservation, of course being last minute choice we didn't and followed up by a quirky joke which made us feel more at ease during their busy dinner time rush. The food was great the waiters were friendly. Overall great experience. I would definitely come again.

Just had a fantastic meal during a very busy night at this restaurant. Service was great and the food was delicious! All orders came out within a short period of time considering how busy they were! Would definitely go back!

Nice service, decent prices but food quality and taste is mediocre. I ordered the soup of the day and found it very salty. The octopus was cooked nicely but the garnishes of beans and olives somewhat ruined it for me.

My husband and I picked Johnny Farina’s on Elgin street to celebrate our Valentine’s Day last night. We have had dinner here on numerous occasions as the proximity to the NAC is really convenient. Both the food and service have always been great. The extra special way we were treated last night has prompted me to write this review. We had made our reservation with the General Manager, AY, who knew that this was a special occasion for us. From greeting us personally at the door, to bringing us to the perfect private booth, and selecting the perfect wine to accompany our pasta, AY made our evening incredibly special. The restaurant was busy, but we felt like we were the only customers there from the way that we were treated. If you want great food and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend Johnny Farina’s on Elgin Street!

My favourite Italian restaurant in Ottawa. The staff makes you feel like family and the food is consistently incredible! The Stella is my favourite dish but everything I tried is unbelievably delicious!

I live nearby and go to the deli for weekday lunch frequently. The food is great and reasonably priced.I went in to try some happy hour (230-530pm) snacks. The beef sliders I had were delicious. I've always had excellent service at the deli and the restaurant is the same. I'll have to come try the dinner menu sometime.
