Quality Eats

This was a new brunch pick for us. A group of us do a monthly brunch and try to find fun new places to try. I have passed by the restaurant before and put it on the list to try. It is a nice brunch spot. The menu looked great. I think for the most part everyone enjoyed the meal. Our service on the other hand was a bit spotty at best. Our waiter clearly had too much fun the night before and it seemed like he must have gone from club to work. The menu was also curious. I guess monkey bread to me was sweet so it was a surprise that it was savory. Nevertheless it was still quite good. The crab & avocado roll was also quite good.Overall, it was a fun brunch. Good food and a waiter who was still on cloud 9 made for a good topic of conversation.

Overall interesting experience. Menu for both drinks and food seemed a bit light in options. I had to really look to settle on something.Con: my steak was quite under and almost heard it mooing.Pro: the birthday cake dessert was on point and probably the best item I ate that night.

We had a reservation for 8pm but they were running a few minutes behind. The hostess let us know right away and was apologetic about it. We didn’t have to wait too long. They sat us at a table in the front bar area, which is a tight space but not uncommon for the neighborhood and comfortable enough. Our server and other staff were attentive but not overbearing. We didn’t have to ask for anything. Drinks came quickly and food reasonably timed afterward. The steak was cooked as requested and the broccoli was well cooked but not overcooked. I would have been disappointed if it were too soft. They even gave us monkey bread and the corn creme brûlée on the house due to the wait. I forgot to ask what’s in the butter that goes with the bread but it’s super delish!After telling my mom about our dinner though I realized they cut our steak for us. I understand why it seems convenient especially for a steak for two, but I prefer to cut my own.
