We were in The area to go to another restaurant which was a major fail. So we decided to go to Puchica. What a fun surprise! They had music and great service and the food was delicious.

Shrimp El diabolo is amazing, plantains are amazing and the bartenders, waiters, and waitress do an amazing job. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. Ingrid, Yani, Walter all do a great job of making the food and atmosphere amazing.

We wanted to try something different, so we came here. The waitress named Valentina was very accommodating and attentive, she was great. The disappointment was that the dinner dishes lack vegetables. You get lots of carbs though, but who eats like that anymore? The carb heavy diet is for people who do heavy manual labor and this is not that kind of neighborhood. Perhaps this is why when we walked in at 6 pm there was not one person to be found, not even employees. We walked around looking and eventually knocked on the kitchen door. For a moment we thought we were in The Discrete Charm of the Bourgeoisie movie.

Food is delicious however the wait time for the food to arrive is a little too long. My family and I had constantly remind the waiter to bring us plates for the appetizers, napkins refill our drinks. So although the food was delicious the attention to the customer needs some improvement.

I might be partial to Guatemalan food, being from Guatemala and all but by that measure, I'm also very critical of Guatemalan restaurants. Puchica, or Amalia's as it's being rebranded is amazing! From the sopas, to the pepian, to the chuchitos and the carne plates . . . Everything is amazing! They must have a couple of grandma's in the back cooking because their food tastes just like grandma used to make. . . . . . Super delicious and scrumptious! I'm from San Francisco and Everytime, and I do mean everytime we go down to LA I make it a mission, a point, to visit Puchica. . . . I need to get my fix! Lol

Food is delicious but service could be better, took about 45 minutes after we finished eating to get our check after directly asking for it. Parking is small.

Watched an NBA finals game here. Definitely recommend the garnachas. They are legit one of the best things i've eaten and it will go down even better with a chelada. Service could have been better, but the food and drinks made up for it.
