Porton Mexican Kitchen

The food is really good. The service is great. It is different from other Mexican restaurants in the area giving it a uniqueness that makes it relevant. Everything I tried tasted different from the same items at other restaurants and that's a good thing. You can tell everything is made fresh, if not to order then at least in house daily. The appetizer chicharrones were really delicious and I haven't found them at many other restaurants in town. The soup is made to order and it really hits the spot. The carne asada meat is really good and not made from cheap cuts of tough skirt steak but rather ribeye and it is tender and delicious. The breading on the Chile Relleno is crispy and reminds me of KFC's original recipe batter which really pairs well with the soft mild heat of the pepper. If you haven't been, go. It's worth a try and I will definitely be back soon. If I had to criticize something, it would be the salsa. It tasted like slightly seasoned canned tomato water.

Since my last review was deleted I will post again. This place is top notch in my book. Food is always fresh, cooked to order. A true mom and pop place that warrants our community to come by and try it. We have been eating here since they opened and I have tried nearly all of the menu and I have not had one bad meal here at all. Miguel has this place running like a well oiled machine. If I could leave a 10 I would.

The service here is fantastic. Super nice people. The food is pretty good and the prices are about average. I've been several times and how friendly the staff is and the strong service is really what brings me back.

Oh my. One of Knoxville' s best kept secrets. We pulled up, not many people in the restaurant, but we thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did. Fresh, tasty, authentic Mexican food with a special twist. Miguel likes what he does and it shows. The focus is the food, and the atmosphere is simple, welcoming, and clean. We really enjoyed our meal.

The Food was perfectly cooked my friend asked for a special request on his meal since he needs a low sodium and was executed perfectly to his taste.Botj of our meals were plenty chicken fajitas, Burrito and a flan for dessert service was very good as well as the food We will be Coming Back

Family owned. Very nice service. The food is tasty and the price is average for this type of meal. Portion sizes were plentiful. Love supporting local businesses. We will return.

Came here with my grandfather and my 6 year old son and we all loved it! Fun and casual atmosphere. Yummy margaritas. Delicious food. Also, top notch service!

Steak fajitas are great, mexican street corn on the cob perfectly cooked and flavored. I sometimes take an order home. Cheese sauce excellant. I highly recommend and go once a week. Wait staff are on the ball.

In retrospect I should have given this place five stars... Victor's a wonderful Host and... the food is great.... They can provide vegan or vegetarian dishes on request...

I like the rice but our main course tasted pretty blunt and even Nacho chips are just okay. But awesome service.

Absolutely a hidden gem!! Wonderful food, great service, I will def go again. My bride and I split a Chicken Chimi, and had two sides with it. The refried beans and Mexican Street corn. Delicious!! Our server was amazing and always kept us in drinks. Would give more stars if possible!

First time diners, found the food to be really good. Definitely going back.
