Just like a home cooked meal. Hamburger steak special — like meatloaf with different seasoning. Mashed potatoes tasted real not boxed. Friendliest staff. Diverse customers. You’ll feel welcome no matter who you are. Definitely a Kansas City monument. Can’t wait to try breakfast sometime.

Everytime I go in there they treat me like family. I've been going there ever since I can remember. Definitely the best in Kansas City. I love you Portia and I love you Trish! My kid will definitely be going in there when he comes into this world. Thanks to my dad I have been given the opportunity to get to know them individually. And I love them!

Good food, great people. Special is usually pretty good. Thursday pan fried chicken is 5 stars but good luck getting in. Pie crust is excellent while the pie last. Highly recommend trying this place. Building and decor is dated but great experience.

good food and cozy family and friends feeling and if you like the tv show, "Cheers", where everyone knows your name, then come here and let Lisa the cook and Portia and the owner and the other ladies and staff feed ya and call you by your first name, remember what you like to eat and have a good time while stuffing your gut. lol

Portia's Cafe is my place to go when down home casual congenial company and good food is a must. I've been enjoying such the experience for years. Great place to go for breakfast.

Cute place. Coffee hot and wait staff very friendly and attentive! Service was quick. Portions were adequate. Place was clean and comfortable. Only issue was the portion size and it wasn't bad but everything thing else was awesome so add a few more potatoes please.
