Great atmosphere. It’s very warm, comfortable and homey feeling. Also this pace is off the riverfront so there is a great view of the Ohio River as well. Food is good! It is a little pricey, but for the abeyance and experience, I don’t think it’s too radical. The only other issue, was the choice range of non alcoholic beverages. Unless you want water there is only a choice of four sodas or unsweetened tea.

A very cool place. An old Victorian home converted into a quaint restaurant with great views of the Ohio river. A great cocktail list and rotating craft beers. The seasonal menu looked liked there wasn't a bad choice to be had. My dish was prepared perfectly.

I love the fries they are delicious! The food is made so quickly, because the waiters are always on it! There are veggitarian options, gluten free options, and the meat option for you meat lovers! I would suggest getting the cheeseburger, it is great!

This place is an old house from the early nineteen-hundreds converted into a restaurant. It has a very authentic feel and look, the decorations are unique. The food is amazing the appetizers are great and if you're looking for somewhere that's not your typical chain restaurant this is the place. 10/10. This is a little gem, a must go! Also has a view of the pedestrian bridge which lights up at night. Our server was terrific answered a lot of questions, very friendly and kept our glasses full! Don't hesitate to go here and try this place out it's well worth it!

We decided to make a visit to the Portage house a top priority this year while we are in Kentucky for Thanksgiving week. Knowing the talents of Chef Dallas McGarity from the marketplace and the fat lamb we knew we would not be disappointed and what came out of the kitchen. There are plenty of appetizers as well as main dishes on the lunch menu to satisfy anybody's taste . We opted for the lunchtime special which on a gray day was simply perfect. wonderful roasted tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches on brioche with a tomato bacon jam. Portage house has a great View from the front window. It's a marvelous opportunity during the great weather the patio offers a lovely spot to enjoy a wonderful meal and to see the Ohio River pretty much up close and personal. I can certainly recommend that anyone who is a foodie should take the time for a lunch or a dinner and enjoy the hospitality and the food that comes out of the kitchen at the Portage house.

What a gem! Fantastic restaurant on the river with breathtaking views. It is a beautifully restored home with a quaint dining area and full bar. Food was first class. Got the Brussel sprouts and goat cheese appetizers and pulled pork sandwich. A must see if visiting the area!

I had the Flat Iron Steak and my husband ordered the Duck. Plus, we got the Truffle Fries as an appetizer & Créme Bruleé for dessert. Very tasty!

I ordered the smashed cheeseburger and fries to go, and even though I was late picking it up, it was still warm and tasted great. First time eating at this place and I will definitely be back (with friends). Can't wait to try more menu items.

As a party of five, all of our food was amazing! We had the porkchop, catfish, brazed short ribs, and shrimp and grits. We also had the goat cheese and the roasted broccoli apps. All were superb!.... And the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. The service was very good and and the late 1800's river front mansion setting was quaint and inviting. We will definitely be back
