About

Pop’s Garage is a sustainable Mexican eatery on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. We bring the laid-back cuisine and culture of Sayulita, Mexico to New Jersey restaurant-goers. We offer over-stuffed burritos, homemade tacos, Pop's Cuban Corn and entrees like our Skirt Steak Jalisco. Our full bar boasts Mexican beers on draft and an extensive Mescal / tequila selection. We started out at La Tapateria and fate found us at Pops Garage. Now my wife is a real authentic Mexican conosur and was surprised how much she liked the grilled corn and smothered plantains. I like the bar options with the Mexican food on the side. Think we will leave the kids home next time and sit near the bar so we can get into the feel of the place. The main dining room loses that pops garage energy a bit. Highly recommend if you are looking for a pleasant surprise on an old authentic Mexican tag line. Deffinitely do the grilled corn.

The hubby and I stopped in and sat at the bar for a quick late lunch on Sunday. Kevin had the chicken burrito and I had 2 tacos. Both were delicious and it was fun watching the bartenders mixing drinks and the food staff working hard at the grill. It's a great place for some yummy Mexican food.

I loved this taco place. Right at the boardwalk with an amazing view. Prices are great, the food and drinks tasty.

Questions & Answers

We are trying to get settled and see if we have enough staff to expand into pop's kitchen. It has been very difficult going through all this with staffing and finances so we put our efforst into one kitchen until we can get more staff and capacity.
