Poor Calvin's

About

Established in November 2012, Poor Calvin's is a unique oasis in Downtown Atlanta that offers a rare cuisine of Thai fusion with Southern influences. Chef Calvin Phan has brought his perspective of international culinary fusion to the front line of Poor Calvin's. Chef Calvin Phan was exposed to the restaurant business at an early age, having come from a family who owned several restaurants, of all calibers, in Europe. Through this solid foundation, he immediately fell in love with culinary arts and decided to fulfill his life-long dream of working with food by attending culinary school in Germany.

Excellent service and food! Very busy establishment with limited seating so reservations are recommended. Restaurant is southern inspired Asian food but for the dishes we ordered Pad Thai, beef tips and sea bass it was more Asian it seemed. The red velvet cake is to die for and is to be shared. They will supply you a free Uber home if needed. Will definitely go back.

We had a nice meal here. Our server Sean was excellent at his job- nice, helpful, enthusiastic and great at selling... although the menu is amazing and sells itself too. Great experience overall, enjoyed our meals outdoors on the patio, the deviled eggs are unreal...big portions!
