If you are out in the just north of Broad portion of Charleston with at least a couple of friends and want to enjoy some great barbeque you need to check out Poogan's Smokehouse and order "The Meat Sweats." It is a 5-Meat Combo Platter with 2 Family-Style Sides, & Cornbread that Poogan's states Serves 2-4 People. I can tell you 4 people will be well filled with this meal. Additionally, the wait staff is incredibly polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. If you do decide to try The Meat Sweats, you may want to plan a good bit of walking to work off some calories.

Omg! My husband and I ordered the Meat Sweats and added the Brisket option for an extra $6. The meal came with two sides of our choosing and some cornbread. The Brisket was easily the best I've ever had, furthermore, it may possibly be the best MEAT I've EVER eaten anywhere in the world! The cornbread was phenomenal. The grits were outstanding. Everything was melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, delicious and when they say it feeds 2-4, they mean it! We will definitely get another meal or two out of it, I'm so glad our hotel room has a fridge. Totally worth it. We could not have been more satisfied! Great people, great food. Just do it!

First time we came here was shortly after they opened. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and good service. After moving back to town a few months ago this was our first date night out stop. Pork belly is so tender and the bacon jam they had was amazing. Will definitely be taking family and friends when they come to town.
