The food is salty so make sure to drink lots of water, but it's sooooo tasty. I love the pollo guisado and maduros. They have good pasteles and this awesome spicy sauce on the table that I wanted to add to everything. Definitely put this place on your list for a laid back dinner or lunch.

Some of the food it's okay! Staff is friendly. The place the environment is an embarrassment to be a Puerto Rican spot. It's old the tables are old school. Its quiet n depressing no Puerto Rican music everyone looks down lol... We need more Puerto Rican spots like the ones in PR n Kissimmee. Chicago Puerto Rican Restaurant has gone down the drain!

For some reason I remember this place being a lot better I have to say the service was faster , but the food(arroz/pollo guisado/habichuela) was way too salty for my tasting not sure if it's because I changed my diet and haven't had in quite a while.

Questions & Answers

does he mean is the food good and am i sure. ? Or does he mean good and safe place? The answer to both questions is yes. Like I've stated before in my last review, I LOVE this place. Never had any problems with service or the food. I lived in humboldt park for 27 and a half years. I am in lakeview now . I still go back to all the stores, i can't shop in lakeview. Tuesday I had the taste for pr food. Two in the afternoon I left to go to ponce. Went in placed my order to go and in less then15 minutes i was in the car, mouth watery from the smell of food. drank Champaign cola instead. The security guard from my building commented on the fact something smell good. I have tried food from "Las Palmas, Borinquen, La Bomba and the best jibarito in chicago. Ponce wins hands down. The priced are unbeliebable and like i said, i usually park on central park. so for original Puerto rican food my vote is Ponce.
