We dined at Pierpoint Restaraunt Tuesday night with a group of about 25 people. At first glance I was skeptical by the appearance or curbside appeal. They handled our crowd with ease. The owner and Brooke put together a fabulous selection of choices for us. The meat and cheese platter was all of great quality. Salad and appetizers were excellent. Try the duck egg rolls. Amazingly good. For dinner some had steaks which were all cooked to perfection. I as well as many ordered the crab cakes. They were easily the best that I have ever had. I also tried the smoked crab cakes. I'm not a fan of smoked anything but the flavor of these were fantastic. A mild smoke with more of a sherry flavor. Not overpowering at all. Just delicious. I will surely visit the Pierpoint again.

Simply the best smoked crab cakes. They do not cut corners on the smoking process. No smoke in a bottle here!

Pier Point is an anomaly. Tiny place with a whale sized reputation and history. This is the only true place to crab cake. We suggest going half'n'half. One smoked cake and one original recipe. They are the only place to smoke their crab, and it tastes out of this world.

I went to Pierpoint with my daughter the other day as I was looking for a place with classic Baltimore crab cakes that wasn't a "Phillips" or a type of place where you need to use a mallet It turned out to be a cute little place with a surprisingly inventive menu. The crab cakes were indeed yummy. They had a smoked version and a standard. I liked the standard a bit better but the smoked was an interesting twist. We had a pasta dish with pumpkin filling and a gorgonzola sauce which was also interesting but we thought the cheese was a bit overpowering. Service was attentive, atmosphere cozy and the chef does the cooking in an open air setting which I always like.

Went for a Knife Skills Cooking Class. Chef Longo is a fantastic chef and teacher so her classes are always fun and a great learning experience. There is so much food everyone has leftovers to take home. P.S. I blocked the faces of our classmates as I did not have permission to post their picture.

Best crab cake ever. Apple and cherry wood smoked. Must try if you are in the area. We made a stop just have crab cakes there. Its a cosy place. You can see the owner cooking. Service is excellent. Only recommendation is have more cakes on the plate.

My girlfriend and I from Detroit had a great time participating in the Maryland-themed cooking class. The menu involved learning how to make the most amazing smoked crab cakes, Maryland fried chicken, biscuits, gravy, seafood soup (bouillabaisse), and a ton of homemade Berger cookies. It's not the most wheelchair-friendly place, but they were graciously able to accommodate us.Nancy is a great teacher and person and I look forward to another class with her.

Questions & Answers

I don't know if they do or not but Pappas Restaurant on Taylor Ave in Parkville ships anywhere in the US and their crabcakes are great.

Not a school but she gives cooking classes at her restaurant.
